Dream: I have been using bio oil religiously, never had 1 stretch mark until I hit 35 weeks and they started appearing! Only tiny ones but I swear everyday I check they've got worse. If your mum has them I think your guaranteed to get them, my OH finds them amazing and looks at them constantly, at least he isn't freaking out! You may be lucky and not get any!
Big bird: I'm not sure about long journey, could anyone drive you? I recently went on a 4 hour journey where I was passenger and I was 35 weeks, we had to keep stopping, I had to have my feet on pillows to get comfy and don't think I could have driven for that long. When I got hone my one foot was massively swollen and I had constant cramp in my leg for 4 days.0 -

was looking at nursing pillows they are sooooo expensive!! was thinking the dream genii at £48 was expensive but may buy that as can use for last few weeks pregnancy, then for breastfeeding and then as prop up cushion for baby.
I bought mothercare's multi-purpose V pillow, think it was about £24. It's worked great so far though when I was BF it was a little comfier to raise baby up with another, normal bed pillow underneath it. I still use it for bottle feeding him around the house too as he's becoming a right heffalump! I took it to hospital with me and slept with it through my last 10 weeks or so of pregnancy - regretted not buying it sooner!0 -
oh kitkat dont be syaing that both my mummy and my aunt were covered in them! so far my skin just seems to have gone totally see-through my veins are really noticeable all over my belly and chest - not the most attractive look :rotfl:
just spent the past hour or so googling prams. i really need to pull my finger out and choose one! i just do not have a clue what i want or need. and everytime i make my mind up on one, as soon as i go back and look at it again i hate it! who knew it would be so hard.
i just saw this on argos, and i was wondering if any of you thought it would be a good buy?

i think it would mean no running downstairs in middle of night.has anyone used anything like this before?0 -
Dream: sorry hopefully you'll be an exception, it's too late for me now! My skin on my belly has gone thinner and feels very weird, I dread to think how it'll look after the baby is here but there isn't much I can do about it now! That feeder looks good but I'm afraid I have no experience of them, hopefully one of the ladies on here will know more!0

hope pigpen's ok. Will text her later if we've not heard anything.
I am a bit overwhelmed here...the other day I answered an 'offered' for a bag of mat clothes size 14-16 on freecycle, the guy had said he'd wait 24 hours before deciding who to give them to, anyway, he decided on me after my email was apparently a lot nicer and more gracious than other people's! Went to collect today and it is a massive black sack of lovely stuff! I can't believe it - 8 pairs of trousers, 2 tops, 3 skirts, 3 bump bands, a dress and a swimming costume & a cardi that fit and another dress, 2 pairs trousers, dress and 2 tops that don't fit/suit me! So generous! And the stuff that doesn't fit should fit my sis. DH has got a suitcase down for me so I can pack some of my non mat clothes away as I can't fit the new stuff in the wardrobe! I will need to shorten some of the trousers but will get the machine out one evening this week I think.
courgette - yes I am mad with myself for saying no to the mattress really, it was only used on a kid from 14 months-4 years so probably wasn't even ever sicked on! Still, we've not had to buy much at all..I just hate waste!
smartie - I would say it's really worth checking the car seat fits and worth getting one that does. I work in transport and the road safety woman told me how dangerous a bad fit is. She offers a checking service and said the rule is 'try before you buy'!
The only downside of today is that I've managed to pull a tummy muscle lifting the heavy bag of clothes into the car...has to get dh to lift it out!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Rach just thought I'd let you know Pigpen posted on my FB profile earlier (about 2 hours ago), she's sore and she said she was bleeding a bit too. But she did "entertain my vent", so I guess she's still waiting.
Oh and BE CAREFUL! Pulled tummy muscles are not good for you or baby.
Dream they are a nice to have, but Ive found making the bottles up before bed to be a not good idea. DS1 was severely colicky and we discovered it was partly this that caused it. I was living with my dad for the first few months after he was born and so my dad would boil up a jug of water, leave it to cool to "wrist temperature" and then poured it into a sterilised flask. Then we got a "formula stacker" so that I filled each compartment with enough formula for one feed. When he needed it, Id decant it into the bottle and add formula...a half a minute job and easy to do with a night light.
This time round I discovered Tommee Tippee do a flask type job (£10) that fits the bottle inside it, with these little cups that hold enough formulla-so you can have your bottle filled and ready and then you just put it into the flask. Although I have to say DS1 was happy to have room temperature feeds by the time he was about three months, so then I didnt bother at all.0 -
of course I'm ok..
... why would I not be? I just spent most of the day asleep.. off to pick up the 3 small pinks shortly.. in my pjs!!

dreambirdie I always thought those feeding systems looked good for night feeds but never bought one because of the price. I was given a bottle cool bag when I had DD and I used to put one bottle in that and the bottle warmer lived in the bedroom and I only ever used it for nightfeeds. It heated up in less time than it took to change their nappy so worked quite well. I'm not sure I have either left so might be boiling the kettle in the middle of the night like I did with DD - not so much fun, I learnt the other way by the time I had DS. Bit cheaper probably than the lindam system but essentially the same thing and it really did work well so if you don't mind spending the money then its probably pretty good.0

dreambirdie - those feeding systems have come up on netmums a lot so if yours is any good it's worth keeping an eye out!
pigpen - I had visions of you being on the way to Leeds by now! Did you work out the source of the bleeding?
Bubs has been v quiet today (often is during the day) and I think is lying right across me. There was a lot of big movements last night so I am assuming was shifting position. Has moved a bit though when I had some v cold water and ice. Going for a bath soon which should also help!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I 'think' it was from the placenta.. it is darker and textured whereas just blood is just blood.. It has settled a little now thank goodness.. I am getting the children home shortly so can't be doing with baby AND them!! Actually best go dish up food as we have to collect them soon.
You are on my 'to text' list once sproggit arrives anyway so you will knowBesides which OH has his beloved iphone so it will be on facebook within minutes probably.. once our respective parents have been called!
