Ok I need some help on sheets!

What is the difference between jersey (which i think is just cotton?) and flannelette? I mean I know that flannelette is thicker and more wintery...but which would you recommend for cotbed? Baby due early Oct so probably won't be in cot til about January.

And sainsbury's have cotbed sized jersey fitted sheets for £5.32 or 2 pack for £10
flat cot/cotbed sized 2 packs for £7.32 flannelette.

it's all confusing me as the sizes seem to vary, I guess as long as the fitted sheets are exact the flat sheets can be slightly different (i was assuming fitted sheets for on the mattress and flat for on top with a blanket (though I have sleeping bags too so wonder if I even need them?

    hmmm, help please!

The jersey fitted ones are best for the bottom of the cot, easier to make up...

If you have a sleeping bag then you can probably forgoe the flat top sheet, you only really need them if the weather is hot and you want to put a lingle layer on them... But there are ways round that too...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks for the sheet advice! Just checked the moses basket and we have 5 fitted and 3 flat for that which I hope will do so only need cotbed ones! I'll have another look at what I can get at Sains then. I know I can always get more but I prefer to have everything now, whilst we have the money to get it and I guess bottom sheets will never go amiss as the child will be in the cotbed for a few years!

Showed DH the cute patterned nappy wraps I bought the other day and even he said they were cute!

Boots have the XT footmuff on offer, really cheap but out of stock...this seems to happen every time they have an offer, their stock must be really limited! It's £45 at mothercare and I have a 10% off code so may just order it and be done!

lol these are just motherease rikki small ones, (i know you can't use motherease) thought they would be good for very early on but didn't want to pay full price for them for such a short time! I also need a few medium wraps for on top of the tots bots.

ETA: does this look like a decent mattress? I seem to be determined to spend some money today!!

I've got 3 I think in medium.. not bothering with small as I have disps for a few weeks and the small ones don't cover the nappies well enough IMO.. I have 4 large too .. 2 from tiddles and 2 new.

I was planning on getting cot & moses basket sheets in Tesco Direct. They are 3 for 2 at the minute.

    http://direct.tesco.com/q/promo/Ntt.S00016104/N.308.aspx?Ns=P_HIDDEN_Stock_Available%7C1%7C%7CP_SORT_Price&btnResultSort.x=33&btnResultSort.y=6

They also have this mattress. I have no idea if it is any good. Anyone want to give an opinion before I buy?
