Where did you get the Lamaze toys cheap if you don't mind me asking KK?

Amazon is great for Lamaze toys. They quite often have them on offer with free P&P:)

sir monster we've had the same thing about childcare...think it's a London thing particularly, but of course being less central you and I might find it easier than some colleagues! I'd be interested to know where you'd tried to phone though. I don't really want to look until the baby is here and I know how it has settled etc. I have been talking to a few people who use childminders rather than nurseries and are v happy with them. I'd rather not go back to work but I think I'll have to (likely to be early July 2011 but depends if I have a job to come abck to as my contract expires then!). Dh is going to be able to do childcare every Friday so if I could come back/get something 3 days a week we could manage with 2 days childcare.

This is the new normal.. they will go slightly less dark after a while but they stay larger and darker than they used to be.

Nothing is TMI for me..have you seen some of my posts ? lol

Lol! Yes I have, but as I am relative newcomer (although serial lurker) thought I would try and be slightly conservative lol!!!

I always wanted mine to be darker, but now they are larger AND darker I don't much like them :(

My nipples are like the size of *tries to think of something* ....are huge! (unable to compare them to any object:o)

I know exactly what you mean! My friend who just has a baby compared them to dinner plates, so are now known as nipple plates lol!!! Gee, the things you talk about when preggers!!!

Thanks for the amazon tip for the toys - forgot all about there tbh.

Hope you feel better when your DH returns with sweets :)

Me too wth the nips lol - seem to take over!!

Rach lunchtime on Friday sounds better as we may be going up North Friday evening as my Grandma is in hospital. Re childcare just rang some nurseries near home and didn't seem to have a waiting list (is this cos they are no good??), but was also thinking of looking into childminders.

DH has just asked whether I want to go to the gym this evening - I don't think he understands my lack of energy at the mo. Had a go at me the other day and said should cancel gym membership as I haven't been in a few weeks (used to go 2 -3 times a week). Was planning on going swimming when off work but really can't face it after work just want to slob out . .

sir monster - I too was told to sort childcare early but it turned out there were no waiting lists here either. My daughter started off going to a nursery down the road from work but after 3-4 months I changed to a childminder closer to home, which would have been better long term but I gave up working for a while instead and went back recently but for evening work when OH can watch them sleep. DS went to nursery a couple of days a week for a year before preschool because he was desparate to start preschool since we were dropping off DD and again despite nursery claims about getting in early there was space for the days I wanted him to go. However the preschools here do tend to have waiting lists, particularly for the morning sessions which I wanted so had DS name down for a year before he started.

Just been to pick up some sleeping bags for little un from a netmum. 5 sleeping bags for £13 and only one is a bit boys, the rest were all neutral, so I might just use that one if I have to if its a girl. 3 are 0-6 months and 2 6-12 months so pretty much sorted for those now.

Does anyone elses feet hurt? Mine hurt after an hour at work because the floor there is so hard. They used to hurt after 5 hours when I wasn't pregnant but since my shift is 5 hours it was never a problem. They were still hurting this morning when I woke up. It was really busy last night typically, hopefully I'll be able to leave early tonight. Since I worked in a call centre with the other 2 work was really never an issue but now I'm struggling to put stock out, regularly fall of the steps, get dizzy getting things from the top or bottom shelves, I really don't think I'm going to manage till the end of oct.

Sold some broken gold chains and an old bracelet I haven't worn for over 10 years for £70 so will put that in my baby spending fund.

Hi there - I cancelled my gym membership because I just didn't have the energy to go (and haven't most of the time when I've been pregnant). I was a bit sad to do it, but I've tried to make an effort to go to an aqua-natal class and pregnancy yoga/pilates (which are much less strenuous :-)) recently, which are pay-as-you-go - I think I've spent less money on these than I would have on a month of gym membership (that I wasn't using...).
I guess it depends on how much you think you'll use it and if you'll have the energy.:)

No way I can manage to walk home from the station never mind go to the gym!! I just don’t think they (men) really understand how tiring pregnancy is! DH is like yours, mainly ok but then gets frustrated and says something. For him the worst thing is me not being able to walk far at all, as we’ve always walked a lot together. He’s being great at the moment but I’m expecting a moaning session soon!

I am trying to work out what to do about work next Monday. I’m meant to be running a training day, but it’s on my own and hard work, and includes a walk which I can’t lead and can’t seem to find anyone else to lead for me. I’ve only got a small number (5 I think) booked in, but I’ve cancelled once already. I just don’t know that I’m up to running a 5 hour training day on my own, small group makes it harder in a way! Wonder if I can just offer to go and do the training individually with the people who have said they can come or if that’s worse.

Thanks SB and Merfe. I can't find aqua-natal where I am which would be ideal. I have been doing regular aqua aerobics but last time I did it (about 3 weeks ago) it gave me pain in my hips, so put me off slightly. The only advantage of keeping my membership is that I will be off over summer hols and at my pool/gym they don't tend to have kids in the pool apart from certain times, also I am hoping that when I don't have to get up for work I will want to get out of the house. . I also think DH misses me going with him tbh as we always went together so maybe that's why he is having a go at me. Maybe I will see what happens when I finish work if I don't go that much I will cancel it then.
