Sweatybetty – I had to have a c-section due to DD1 being an awkward breech and 10lb3oz.
I was petrified of having a Csection as the only thing I'd been in hospital for previoiusly was when I was born and then when I was 12 a broken wrist lol.
Gratuitous Birth Story
If you dont want to know about C section look away now.
We went in at 7.30am having been nil by mouth since 11pm the previous night with 2 tablets to take to control tummy acid. I was lined up for surgery at 11.30am and had my Canula (sp?) put in whilst waiting on the ward. So at 10.50am I waddled to the operating room and got to sit in a waiting area with OH, at which point I burst into tears due to hormones, scared and excited all at once. Having calmed down I waddled in to the room and ever so elegantly heaved myself onto the bed.
A very nice aneasthatist intoduced himself and exlplained what he was going to do. Now I no likey needles so I asked for them not to show me, which they didnt. They then ask you to curl forwards so they can do their thing. But for the spinal tap epidural thing, first they use local anaesthetic to numb the area then they put in the epidural. Swiftly after this my legs went very warm and I couldnt move them which is a bizarre sensation. So they had to swing my legs onto the bed for me. They then proceeded to hook me up to the heart monitor, saline etc. they then use a cold spray to check where you can feel and once they know you are numb they proceed with the surgery. 5 minutes later 10lb3oz Izzy was born I had a quick look, then she was off to be cleaned. Daddy then got to give her cuddles whilst I was stitched up (in the nice way lol), and drive her basinette to the ward, whilst I was portered down.
I felt washed out when on the ward and so only really held izzy when feeding her for the first couple of hours. At about 3pm I had some feeling in my legs so could shufty up the bed and have better cuddles. And at about 6pm I was up and about (moving at the speed of a 90 year old tortoise lol) and had a shower at 7pm.
From some one who spent the latter part of my pregnancy in tears as I didnt want a Csection... it wasnt that bad and if I need to have another one I wouldnt be too bothered although I would like to try for a natural birth this time round.

Emsy i think im right in saying their growth isnt uniform anyway - they will have weeks with alot of growth and then could stay the same for ages. At least its been identified as healthy so far! thats something to celebrate over
Morning ladies. Full english cooked breakfast for me soon, with runny egg! (sorry)MFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -

Have been nesting for weeks now and still no sign of her putting in an appearance. She is just being plain stubborn now I think.
Did attempt to seduceboyfriend last night and he admitted that for some reason he isn't finding
:D:D:D enjoyable at the minute because it feels like and i quote 'she's in the room' although eh had no problems when I was pregnant with our son. So I'm wondering if its to do with the fact that its a little girl that he feels awkward. So Im afraid the other is out at the minute - and since he knows the plug has gone he really isn't interested!:eek::eek::eek: Did have a friend suggest some 'DIY' but that seems like too much effort at the minute! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
just done a tesco shop too to be delivered between 8 - 10pm tonight - so at least that's that sorted.Time to find me again0 -
Fingers crossed and labour vibes for you!
On a seperate note I have tummy acheRant! And am peed off with OH as last night I wanted to go to bed at 9pm but DD wouldnt go to sleep, asked OH to get her off to sleep, but he said that I am sooo much better at it than he is, so I stayed up till 11pm getting her off to sleep. Then went to bed for a cry as I felt poop. OH said well if she gets up in the night he'll get up with her. 5am DD is up so I wake OH, but he complains that he is tired (oh and I am not!) and he doesnt know what to do (!!!!!!!) So i tell him to go make her a feed and feed her. He comes back upstairs with the feeds and says "can you do it?" I agree cos I know that I will end up getting up anyway. SO he brings DD in to me then strops off downstairs saying "Im off to get some sleep I'm knackered". Then 5 mins later strops back into bedroom as he was too cold downstairs. So now I am downstairs with DD who is fast asleep on the sofa bed but wakes up every time I try to take her back up to her cot. SO I have been up since 5am feeling quite poorly. My aim today is to make OH feel as guilty as possible. And yes I know its petty but it got right on my nerves. Rant Over.
Thank you for that.DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

Right I am really not amused now.
A friend of mine is on her way to hospital as we speak to have her baby through induction because of diabetes - that will be baby number 7 that I know of who has been due after Holly and yet born before her!
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Getting depressed now and feeling very fed up.:(:(:(:( and what I've just realised too is that KYM has been very quiet the last due days and its making me wonder if perhaps it not 7 but in fact 8!

Oh Sammy:( Lots of hugs... maybe a very squidgy hug will squeeze the baby out!
10 scans emsy?? I've had 6 and they won't let me have anymore:( BUT I have a feeling as to why... but I'd better not say just incase I get done for slander or something. Lets just say I don't agree with sonographers working for NHS and else where.
I have no idea what bubs measurements were at 20 wk scan... cos devil child wouldn't let anyone know BUT the measurements midwife is doing puts me way above the highest line on chart thingy in notes. If I follow the line in goes towards the 11lb mark:eek:
I too have heard bigguns are easier to get out due to gravity or something!BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Hi there - thanks very much for this. I feel a bit better now :-) I think it's just the thought of surgery and all the stuff that comes with it that's really stressing me out - but I think it's definitely better than an emergency c-section, so maybe it's the way to go... I've got at least 8 weeks to get used to the idea!0
