congrats ticklepenny!! if im totally honest i wouldnt waste the money on the clearblue test. do you not know the date of your last period in order to work out the weeks? heres a link to the clearblue website http://www.clearblue.com/uk/new-clearblue-digital-pregnancy-test-with-conception-indicator.php if you are more than 5 weeks it wont tell you how many weeks you are if you see what i mean.

I think its 6 weeks... however I calculated DD1 based on that and it turned out to be 2 weeks out and she was deliverd by Csection when the Drs thought she was 39+5 but they then said she was more like 42 weeks when they saw her lol. Thats why I was thinking of trying the clearblue thing, but if its no good over 5 weeks theres no point.

In theory my due date is 1st March 2011!
    DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz
    DD1 arrived 20/05/09 10lb3oz

Did they not measure her at your 12wk scan? That's generally what they go from rather than LMP dates...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

you'll find out when you have your 12 week scan anyway. i read somewhere that all babies grow at the same rate until 12/13 weeks thats why they do the dating at that scan. i had a scan at 6 weeks, then 9 weeks and then 13 weeks and my date was always the same. then at the 20 week scan she said it was 4 days out? so i think after the 12/13 wks babies must sort of do their own thing growth wise lol!

have you had any of the dreaded sickness etc yet? hopefully your one of the lucky ones who dont get it!! part of me is jealous because i wish i was still in early pregnancy, this getting up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet is starting to do my head in. sorry cant be more positive today hormones lol

    Congrats Tinks!
Was it a 3d scan or a normal one?

Just being nosey cos my 20wk scan is in two weeks and I desperately want to know if it's pink or blue. If s/he doesn't reveal then I'll be booking a second chance private scan to find out but I'm not sure I'd want the 3D one as they look a bit strange to me (no offence meant to anyone who likes them).

    Thanks

    Katy x

We had a private 2d scan that was an hour long she did all the checks on baby first and then showed us & told us what it was. From more than one way. She was amazing worth every penny.

I have not got my NHS scan until July 21st and I will be nearly 22 weeks then I could wait :D

MV - Your scan must be soon. Thinking of you x
If you can think it........it will happen
  • The letter I got about my 12 week scan appointment said the measurements for due dates are only correct from 10 weeks to 13+6, at these times it's the most accurate way of calculating your due date. At the EPU I was told the same, I was given a date but told it may be changed at the 12 week scan as that's far more accurate.

they measured her at 12 weeks and said their dates were right, but at 36 weeks she measured as 7lbs6oz they said they may have been wrong earlie on lol Then when she arrived they said that due to the level of vernix(?) they thought she was overdue rather than on time.

Oh well just as long asthis one isnt breech I will be happy :D

Hope everyones ok today. Had my haircut yesterday and I am amazed how much better I feel after it! Also started having a rest when I get in from work so I go straight to bed for an hour and either sleep or read. I have found this has eased the pains I am having. OH has been good, rubbing my back and even painted my finger and toe nails! It's a bit messy but I am happy he's done it! I went to docs fri night to have my BP checked and the doc said I need to start my maternity leave on Monday. I explained that I cannot afford to and he just said I need to put mine and the babys health first. Think I am going to see how I get on at work as the rent/ bills won't get paid if I don't work this month. Hopefully my manager might offer me to work from home or work part time.
