I seriously cant take this heat much longer its killing me everything is sticky and clammy and poor bubs is grumpy too as he is uncomfortable. I'm gonna fill a bowl with ice water in a bit and soak my feet for a while see if i can bring my temp down.

On the first poo thing before you put the first nappy on baby after the birth slap a good dollop of vasaline over their bums it stops the horrible black gunk from sticking quite so badly :-)

I honestly don't mind poo.. I don't think it smells bad at all.. FF poo is disgusting.. but bf poo just smells like warm toffee.. or maybe that is just my babies.. I do HATE changing toddler poo.. DS2 and DS3 were quite late training so we had some nasties from them.. I can do cat poo.. but dog poo is just the most revolting substance known to man.. I cannot for love nor money clean it up.. and I can't even THINK about vomit.. baby, adult, child, my own.. cannot do it!

xmas.. I am hating the heat too..

The children are all like their bottoms... and DD1 (15) has jst flaked on the bottom of my bed hating heat too...

The older two arent so bad if they were here i would just send them outside with the hose keeps them happy for hrs. I just dont know what to do with poor little bubs he is alseep at the moment he is off his food but stil drinking his milk so not worried about that and im giving some cooled drinks in between it so unfair on the poor little mite i have to keep a vest on him as if we handle him without one he seems to get prickly heat but thats all he has on i will stick him in a cool bath later see if that cheers him up a bit. I feel like going up town just so i can stand in the air conditioned shops lol :-)

Freebie you just reminded me about cot sheets, im not sure what to do about babs cot it is bigger than a crib/ moses basket but smaller than a normal cot ( the sheets could be doubled up and still be to big) any ideas ladies or do you think im best buying big sheets and cutting and sewing to size i could probably at a push get four out of a single bed sheet ?

I'm so tempted to buy this! I really shouldn't though, we already have a moses basket on loan - a crib might be overkill in a tiny flat! Oh but I want one....

I've just ordered the stand for the basket and a couple of wraps.. need maybe 3 or 4 more to have enough but they aren't imperative until Squeak arrives as I have disps for the first few weeks while we get our lives in gear.. and to make OH's life easier while he learns to clean bums other than his own lol

Well we had a lovely weekend away went to a devere venues hotel stayed fri and sat night went into the village to a pub for dinner last night forgot my stomach does not have the capacity it used to and after a starter couldnt finish my main was absolutely stuffed.

Sainsburys do some nice summer dresses from £10-£20 and they are stretchy and many have stretchy backs to them so fit well over pregnant tummies, I have a couple and actually brought normal size but even if you had to buy a size bigger they are nicer than many maternity ones I have seen.

For those suffering from thrush I used to suffer really badly and had to have some intensive treatment 2yrs ago from my gynae consultant - gp was not overly happy with prescribing it but did after ringing and debating with consultant. Anyway after the 6wk treatment (it was oral medication as I cant use pessaries) I went on a yeast free diet for 4mths and then a yeast reduced diet for 8mths and slowly re-introduced yeast which really helped and havent had thrush since but if had any signs would cut yeast out again. (did mean no mushrooms on toast for brekkie at weekends which was my fav!)

I bought a couple of those blankets yesterday and a couple of cot ones for £6 each, plus some other bits. It says it is despatched but the tracking number won't work so assume not with the courier yet.

Funny morning today, DH in a right grump first thing and everything I did was wrong. Thankfully he cheered up later and we went out for a coffee then had a nice bit of lunch in. I'm just watching casualty whilst DH learns some more latin, we have a friend coming over for the footie later too. over 30 deg here and I really struggled to get back from the shops with one small bag of shopping!

Think we are going to have to move the lounge around - we don't currently eat at the table but I keep making such a mess as I can't fit the tray on my knee :rotfl: if we move things a bit we can actually eat at the table!

oooh, and a big Happy Birthday to Smartie! enjoy your day xx
