Fernlie, that's very true, if you do wind up going overdue - a Solstice baby would be cool.

Stupid MW, cancelled on me on Wednesday, was meant to be here at one, has just rung up to say she 'should' be here in the next hour. Yeah, cos I've got nothing better to do than sit about waiting for her to blooming well come. I have things to do, and won't be able to go out after she's been as OH finishes work at 4.30 and forgot his house key, so will need to be let in.

Hi all, I can't keep up with this thread - I go away for a few weeks and it is almost unrecognisable and too much to catch up on! Did notice when flicking through though that Bufger is having a boy - congrats! WE have our 20 week scan tomorrow - I just posted over on under 12weeks thread all about the bet I have with DH.....

Baby has been kicking away for weeks now so this is probably why I am not stressing about the scan - I feel in a good place right now reagrding this pregnancy and am finally just going with the flow and not worrying about every little twinge. Thing is, it all seems to be 'flowing' so quickly lol! I remember the agonisingly slow days of being less than 12 weeks, but now, with a hectic work schedule, two active kids, moving home (get keys to new place on Monday!) the days and weeks have flown by......

Tanmu i am the same as you i have my 20 week scan next week and i don't know where the weeks have gone!!!!!
I remember well the agonising wait to get to twelve weeks (my friend is pregnent and has her 12 wk scan on mon and she keeps moaning about the dragging) I think you are so anxious to get to the 12 wk scan and have it confirmed that you are pregnant and not just imagining it lol.

I am just desperate for my bump to 'lift' it's still very low (under my belly button ) and is putting a big strain on my back been having bad back spasms all week!!!!

Congrats bugfer on the scan and yorky on the baby such a lovely name i am trying to convince my DH to have Jacob if it's a boy.
I went to look at the maclaren xlr in mothercare i had my heart set on one but wasn't too impressed, i know it's a great pram and very practical it just doesn't 'do it' for me.
Am now looking at bugaboos on ebay!!!!!!
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.

Tanmu & Pukka; you think it goes quick to 20 weeks... I feel like the past 32 weeks have flown by! I cannot believe that I will have my baby in 8 weeks (give or take a few days!) Once I got past 20 weeks I felt so much more relaxed and reassured, hope you both feel the same, I completely panicked for the first 12 weeks though!!

Pukka; I saw someone with a bugaboo yesterday having never heard of it before, I thought it was really nice I purposely walked past them again to have another nose at it :p

Anyway ... letter stuffed through the door this afternoon from the MW who rang yesterday...I am absolutely chuffing LIVID!!! Cheeky bint!!!

The blood results I asked for.. she gave me the old ones from January.. like I am too stupid to be able to read the date!!!!

Then the 'cover letter' .. they have sent the referral to Leeds then gave a whole list of reasons I an stupid for considering going there.. delivering on the way/prem baby blah blah blah... Like they would know ANY of this had I not told them myself!!! It is too much like work reading notes... major major number 1 gripe there for me!

THEN... it goes on to say her supervisor wants to speak to me.. get this.. in order to SUPPORT ME HAVING MY BABY HERE... erm... is the whole effing point that I am NOT under any circumstances going to the hospital here.. How many times do I have to tell them I am NOT having it here??? Are they totally incapable of listening to a word anyone says?????

I am SO angry... this is exactly the reason I don't want to see them because I don't want to be angry, I don't want to have any part of their stupidity and ... ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHH I am so mad!!!!

  • I would not like to be that midwife when you call her, it just proves your point, they don't listen to a word you say. I don't blame you for digging your heels in. Good luck ( but I've a feeling it'll be the madwife that needs luck !! )

KK I know what you mean I can't believe I'm 27 weeks soon and down to less than 100 days. Re pushchairs I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees a pushchair and goes back for another look!! Re the bugaboo it does seem good, but is quite expensive I think £500 for the travel system.

I am not calling her.. nor am I answering any calls from them.. if they turn up at the house (which she threatened to do yesterday!!!) I will tell her politely (I can if I try very hard!) to leave me alone and no they are NOT welcome to come after the baby is born and shut the door in their face.. I have totally had it now!

Pigpen, that's absolutely disgraceful treatment. How can they try and force you to have your baby were you plainly don't want to have it?

You're slightly scaring me though, as you say you live in Yorkshire, practically next to the sea - please tell me it's not Scarborough (you don't have to say where!)

MW eventually made it here just after 3. Everything spot on, bubs was actually head down for a change, but had it's body curled up in a weird way.
