Oooh, are ankle skips those balls that you put on your ankle and jump over? I had one of those donkeys years ago, it was fun!

I love retro toys - though hate being of an age where toys I played with are counted as being 'retro' or 'vintage'.

Those be the ones! I can't believe it either, I'm 25 and I feel old :rotfl:They are all the rage again now apparently. I had one when I was at school too! They were so happy bless them when I said they could take them tomorrow, one of them burst into tears she was so happy, I felt like such a cow :o

Can I join here please?? I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby. A total out of the blue surprise. No idea of exact EDD LMP puts it as 20th Feb which makes me 4+4 but we have known for 9 days so I think that is totally wrong and wonder if LMP was actually an implant bleed. We have no room in this house so god knows where I will put a baby plus I had SPD with both my previous pregnancies and pre eclampsia both times too. 1st baby I went to term and into labour on my own. 2nd time they induced me at 37 weeks because my organs started to fail so I am a bit apprehensive to say the least

Our was an out of the blue surprise too! Congratulations, I hope things all go well for you. Hopefully they will monitor you lots because of your previous problems.

hope all goes well tomorrow CAFC

    take care of yourself tinks
    hope you feel better redmel

I am tired and achey but feel like my weekend has started! The walk today was a bit much I think although i'm sure the fresh air did me good. I am also sooooo hungry all the time, I want a magnum now! Today someone asked if I was sure I didn't have twins in there as bump has grown so much over last 2 weeks. I've still only put on 12lb though which I think is ok? I'm 24+4 today. I did email boss and say i need to talk to him about working from home 1-2 days a week..will see what he comes back with!

sir monster thanks for the moses basket info I've actually got one though it's tempting to pick one up for the in laws house up the road. I think I will let them buy a travel cot though. I'll pm you my mob umber in case of any probs in the morning, look forward to seeing you x

I just lost out on a lightshade from ebay to match the curtains I bought...outbid by 20p! Grrr. Still, plenty of time yet!

Awww, delain are you normally a mean mummy;)

I had one too, but we were poor so had to make ours out of rope and tennis balls:)

At the moment I'm the best mummy ever (said in a really tearful voice!) I was the worst mummy ever this morning when I said that the ankle skips would stay at home until their bedroom was tidy :o So this morning I was mean.

I didn't have a really posh one, one of my friends had one which counted how many skips you had done. Must have been expensive in 1991 :rotfl: These were in Sainburys, 20% off :money:

God i feel really old now the ankle skipping things didnt come out until long after i had left school. we used to have a big piece of elastic that two people would have on their ankles at either end then one of us would jump from left to right singing silly songs and doing cats cradle type things with it i'm only 34 i shouldnt feel past it yet lol :-)

Is anyone else really struggling? I'm almost seven months and have got a 5 year old and a full time job. I'm contracted to 40 hours a week but I spend an additional two hours per day travelling, So I'm actually doing almost 50 hours a week altogether.

I don't feel human at the moment, my back aches all the time and I'm ratty because I'm tired. Moan moan moan.

Oh my god xmas when i was reading about ankle skips i was just thinking in my day all we had were elastics!!!!!
It was the best game ever though, with very complex twisting etc that i have no idea now how we used to do!!!!!!!!
We spent hours playing i may try and ressurect it with my son and daughter if i can remember how!!!!
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.
