Woo hoo, I just built a cot! Room looks quite sweet now, even though it's not 'done', and cots going in our room when we've shuffled it around.

What would you other mums put in your first aid box? Mine's somewhat gungho in her attitude, so unless you were practically dead, you might get a bit of butter and sugar, or maybe a sticky plaster, so I have no clue about things like Calpol. I want to put together all our stuff like pain killers and plasters, and just trying to think what bubs might need.

erm... :o I'm with your mum lol

I have a bottle of califig (for bowel problems.. we get a lot with DS2's dyspraxia and DD4's cerebral palsy)
a bottle of medised.. most of the time.. though I keep giving it to DS1 for GS and not having any in..
    Anbesol..
    head louse shampoo.. :p
a box or 3 of homeopathic stuff.
a box of adult cold and flu capsules
    a box of paracetamol
bottle of tea tree oil.. for the nappy bucket! and the head louse deterrent spray!
    Bite cream.
    Worm medicine

No sticky plasters as they harbour germs and increase the chance of infection, no bandages, antiseptic or anything else.. skin is designed to mend itself and bruises don't need treating.. a bit of water and kitchen rool is all mine have ever got if they are lucky!!

    Morning ladies!

How jealous am I of all you ladies with toy boys!! My OH is 3 months older than me! So we are very close in age.

Well I feel like a BIG FAT lump today :( 2 people have commented on how I seem to have 'expanded' this week.. nice! I love the way people feel they can insult you lots just because you are pregnant!

Told OH how uncomfortable/ fat/ heavy I was feeling last night and he was really nice and said he thought I looked great, comments like this do make me feel abit better!

kitkat.. I do think it depends what you are wearing too.. OH said paler colours make bump look bigger than darker colours.. which is fine because almost everything I possess is black lol. i am actually really small with this one compared to my hugeness with the others and given this one is so much longer than the others!

I have murderous heartburn again today.. no doubt thanks to the paracetamol for my painful ear, feet trying to break my ribs.. again.. I have a knee in my navel too!.. and the 2 chicken pies I had for breakfast.

Pigpen, I had a feeling you might be that way out too! :rotfl:

We never had worms, and never had nits until we were adults either, but my mum used to put our hair into plaits every day, so it was never loose. I have to say, I'm not very fond of plasters or painkillers either, so I'll probably wind up like her anyway ;). Mind you, us three survived to adulthood with no lasting ill effects, so she can't have done too badly.

Mine have plaits and still end up hoppety they are rife in year 2 it seems.. though less of a pain since Moomins friends left whose mum never seemed to bother getting rid!.. and I don't discourage mud eating and other gross behaviours soo they get wormed like dogs.. every 3 months lol

Oo you sound like my Mum:D:D If it aint bleeding stop moaning is my philosophy:D We always got damp kitchen roll for cuts & grazes too..or a magic rub on the affected area if under 5yrs old:rotfl:
    • In our 1st aid kit we have tea tree oil(disinfectant for kitchen & bin & use on my spots:o)
    • a digital thermometer which can take underarm reading for babies
    • good old germoline for when I can't be bothered searching for the tea tree
    • eyewash for DHs wonky eyes
    • olive oil for when/if baby gets cradle cap and for my stomach in the meantime;)
thats it, will probs get that calpol stuff when bubs is here, but I daren't get any before coz we remember how nice it was and would probs end up feigning a cough so we could have some:o:D

As for DHs ages...mines 4 years older but acts 10years younger:p:D

Good point Pigpen; I wear black most of the time. I wore pink yesterday and red today (very unlike me but they are comfortable and vest top type things as its so hot in here!) so maybe thats what is, I shall stick to black from now on!!!

Threemutleys; I have always kinda preferred older men :o although I am sure this will change as I get older!!! I just find my OH immature sometimes!
