    Hi everybody

Pigpen -Hope you are ok and baby stays put. I thought I was in trouble here for q jumping from the 6th to the 1st july.

Bexta -My baby is transverse and will remain so until c section. His or her head is towards my right with legs kicking and bruising my ribs all the time .Also likes me to poke his or her feet and then kicks back.

I wanted to ask about c sections. On the day do I take an outfit, nappy and blanket for baby and give it to the midwife to dress baby until I come round from the anesthetic or do they just clean and wrap up baby with a towel until I wake up?Also does the same apply for me with nightie, maternity pad and knickers or will all that be sorted once I get to recovery or ward?
I've been imagining waking up naked with blood everywhere.

    Oh poo... my post disappeared!!

Oh pigpen... I hope everything will be ok:)

Just got back from friend's who has bump envy... she can have my bump!!!:rotfl:

With regards to feeling down during pregnancy - my midwife warned me that depression can rear it's evil head especially if you've suffered from it before.

I'll admit to having very bad bouts of it... to the extent where I nearly did something stupid:o Luckily it's got a lot better recently and if it appears it doesn't stay for long. I tend to have a little cry.

I feel guilt for feeling down having TTC for quite a while and knowing how lucky I am to be PG. Blimin hormones:mad:

Chocolate cheesecake demolished:D Please send me non heartburn vibes please!!;)

Hi all, quick question :) am not seeing midwife again til am 28 weeks but I was wondering whether this emergency budget that the government is bringing in on the 22nd June is likely to cut the HIP grant we all get? I am 25 weeks on Monday, should I see if the midwife will sign off the paperwork for me asap? Thanks very much.... just wanted some thoughts on this. :)

DON - Even if they scrap the grant I doubt very much it would be effective immediately :)
Ooooooo can I pick your briain over DHs business?? I'm trying to convince my DH he is good enough/better than most so should really do this...I was thinking of starting him off with 1 a month and see how we go from there:) Think my sisters wedding at weekend has got him thinking along my lines:D does your DH have a website? how long does it take him to edit photos?? how did he start?? how longs he been doing it??

Oh and yes treat yourself to a takeaway IF you finish doing the books today:D

My OH is also an amazing 'togger - he did a wedding back in October last year though and he found it so stressful (even though the pics were fab) that he wont even consider doing anything professional other than the odd product pic because he doesnt want to lose the love of his hobby!

    Oh.. F***

Having a show at 29.5 weeks isn't good is it?

I think I may need my crib sharpish!!!

I did have 3 (17, 29 and 31 weeks) with DS2 so it MIGHT be ok.. but he arrived at 32 weeks..

    Now... dare I tell OH???

    lol...

Pigpen - ring the EPU for advice - if your OH is anything like mine I wouldn't tell him until I had spoken to the EPU.

Well, I went to the sorting office this morning on the off chance and the letter wasnt there :mad: so I contacted the paper who have definitely not sent me anything so 'my' inheritenice is safe again (for now) :j:j Fingers crossed for me please ladies until the 16th when I will know for certain!!

Still cant figure out who the RD letter can be from though!!!

  • Smartie I know how you feel. Wanting another baby, being lucky enough to get pregnant then spending the whole time feeling like !!!!!!. I have quite a few friends having problems getting pregnant so it makes me feel really guilty. Re depression , I have been suffering moderate depression, panic attacks and severe anxiety since early pregnancy been off work for nearly 3 months. Been down with my gp lots and he's referred me to counselling which is helping. The thing that gets me is I have no reason in particular to be depressed but that's not the way it works. It pays to take time out and look after yourself both mentally and physically especially in pregnancy, and I would also say to anyone suffering talk to someone about it, you'll be surprised how much better that in itself can make you feel better.

Hoping for more babies safely and quickly delivered soon

From what I remember (but it has been a while) you wear a hospital gown only during the section, then change into a nightie not long after. They put pads on me that I think my legs just held in place, still have cathetar in so knickers would be awkward. For the baby they asked me for a nappy and possibly a vest but DD had a hospital baby gown on after and we changed her later when I was up and about. They will ask you to get the things ready out your bag that you need just before you go down to theatre.

Also for those worrying about HIPG What about Surestart for those who are eligible ? Bet it'll be scrapped to. I've sent my form in just in case, it can be claimed from 29 weeks

I wonder what happens if your baby is born on the 29th of July would they be eligible for the full CTF ?? Must check

When i had a general for my first c-section my DH actually dressed DS in the outfits i had brought with me as they gave DS staright to him whilst they sorted me out and when i came round i had a gown on and was lay on a big pad.
Once i was fully awake the midwifes gave me a lovely sponge bath and got me into my nice nightie with my knicks pad etc.
