My OH has in his head one name for a girl and I don't like it... and he won't even discuss alternatives it is this one or none.. I said fine none it is then...
Boys name we actually agreed on, but a girls name is awful.. his mother keeps suggesting stupid boring boys names and will not even entertain the idea it might actually be a girl.. and the only name she suggested for a girl was the one his sister wants when she ever has children.. buts thats fine cos I hate it anyway... lol.. she suggested his grandads name.. which was the name of my nephew killed in October in a motorbike accident.. so highly inappropriate.. apparently that doesn't matter!! she suggested the name of their dead dog.. which is DS3's middle name shortened.. apparently that doesn't matter either.. I think it might!!
Anyway with maybe 5-6 weeks to go I suggested we actually look at the dusty name books and see if we can't come up with at least a short list of names we would consider.. we haven't done that yet either!
I hate choosing names.. it is the one thing we give them they keep forever.. and I would like them to like it.. I loathe my name.. and my youngest sister hates hers too lol.. my mother didn't do a good job it seems!

Tink: how very creative making your own bedding and curtains, I really wish I had this skill!!! I can alter curtains, and make a dog bed with the excess!!!Thats as far as I go!!
Thanks. I did it for my daughter's room 13 years ago as I could find what I wanted. She had a circus themed bedroom and I make her wardrobe into the big top!
DH thinks I should go into business as I made all the bunting for our blessing decorating too. I love being creative but don't know if I would enjoy it so much if I HAD to do it IYSWIMIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
kitkat5566 wrote: »I think this theory about baby names is right, I am sure I am having a boy and I am struggling sooo much with boys names, I have hundreds of girls!! Prob is all the names I like seem to begin with a C or K and OH's surname begins with a K and I think it will be too much! The one boys name I love is Theo
I am sure my family/ or friends will slate it though, but I will try get a few name books from the library and look for a 2nd and 3rd choice
oh and some definate girls name just incase!
Bit disappointed just found out the woman who is covering part of my job when I'm on leave is being promoted to deputy manager, feel abit like me being pregnant has lost me the promotion as I work above her anyway and she is always making mistakes and skiving work all the time. Nevermind!
If you do name the baby with a C/K name pls pls make sure if they have a middle name it doesn't start with a vowel!! Could you imagine Chris/Kieron Oliver KitKat?!?:rotfl:
as for the job...with you going on ML I'm sure they'll see how good she really isn't and might even offer you the job on your return:)1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

OGM Fuzz I hadn't even though about initials being COK or KOK lol!!! I was more worried about is being too 'K' sounding lol. Although there are some K names I really like! Plus if I marry OH I will be KK anyway... luckily my middle name is Elaine so the initials aren't rude! I cannot decide on middle names either, especially with Theo... what goes with that and sounds good with a K surname
oh this is too confusing!!!
When babies are born they should be born with labels saying their names.. but then we would never be happy with whatever their names were!0 -
kitkat that sounds really off about the assistant manager thing, hope she's not getting paid more than you?
tinkwings - that is lovely bunting, I am thinking of doing some in the jungle/animal theme for the baby's room...if I get the curtains I fancy off ebay there will be plenty to chop some off...not sure if my sewing skills are good enough though. I probably just need to practice! Handily my sister in law was a professional seamstress so I think she might be called upon for help! When I got married she whipped me up a little bag out of the bits they chopped off the bottom of my dress!
I would love to get into sewing, knitting too but I feel like I don't know where to start plus DH is moaning that he doesn't like the knitted stuff!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Those who know my surname will realise that also cause alot of problems with names!! We DON'T pronounce it the scottish way if you know what I mean.
EXAMPLES:
Can't have a girls name like Jessica.
Can't have Ann.
I like Finlay... but if it's shortened to Finn!!
And we always get the Wayne thing said to us *sigh*
There are lots and lots of other names we can't have but can't remember now:o
Shouldn't complain as myself and DH had to decide on what surname to take... he was born something else but had to change surname as a child. Could of gone back to his birth name but I said NO!! There was no way I was having that name!
DS has been sent home from school with tummy bug:(
I've been decorating and now bump is hurting:oBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
