Ok Pigpen you win with the most junk in the cot! I also discovered my OH had put loads of his clean clothes in the cot last nite, men!

Cl: don't go if you don't feel like it. I missed a close friends hen do a couple of months ago, I explained I felt exhausted and was still suffering from sickness at the time and she understood. I really didn't fancy wearing the tight fitting outfits they had arranged to wear and being with loads of drunk ppl. I made the effort to go to her wedding and she seemed so pleased that I made it there! If she's a good friend she will understand. I can't believe your friend Suzy, that's ridiculous having to sleep on the floor!

Hope it stops raining by Monday I'm doing a car boot sale!

bump hath emerged! Jacob was born 19th May at 2045. He weighed an almighty 9.6lbs and was finally aided by forceps, as after hours of pushing (and begging for assistance) he really did not want to leave!

We had to stay in hospital for a week, as I'd lost a litre (!) of blood and baby had low blood sugar, high white blood cells, & was a bit jaundiced. Poor baby. :(

Needless to say I have stitches, which are still killing me, but I'll live! My post-pregnancy waddle is worse than my pregnant waddle :o

Baby is ok, bit grizzly with mucus - any tips? His other bad habit is hiccups, which he'll get for 10 minutes at a time..

    Congrats:j

    Which cot is it??

It's THIS ONE It is a lot smaller than any cot I've seen and can't imagine an older baby sleeping in it safely. It suits us fine for now because of lack of space and should last until we hopefully move house:)
    Morning ladies

Can I ask for big labour vibes for my friend on facebook who is 16 days overdue!!! Not really sure what they have done to help her but sounds like not much!! Feeling bit tired from the wedding, but meeting a friend for coffee so best be off out again and then need to do some tidying up.

    Hi,
has anyone come across this? I got a letter through saying that the risk of having a Downs baby was low however there is raised protein in my pee that they use to measure the risk. Now i have to go to a different hospital for a special scan to check the babies development.
I have been told this could mean quite a few serious things are wrong but im just wondering if it could mean its nothing serious also?

Im stressing out and worrying until tuesday now as they mucked up my app and the specialistsaren't back until then.

    Thanks

I had protein in wee with DS because of pre eclampsia but that was a lot further along in my pregnancy.

I'm sure it could just be one of those things but they have to check everything out to be on the safe side. I have my fingers crossed for you :)

It is quite a costly weekend and I know I'll just be watching the clock wondering when I can go to bed without looking like a party pooper, because everyone will be drinking loads. I felt obliged to go, but now would like to make an excuse and just stay at home. Just wondering if you thought being pregnant was an acceptable excuse?

I recently missed a hen do (I was 21 weeks) and the person was quite put out. We had just come back from hols 4 days before and it would have cost a few hundred quid to go. I know everyone was drinking heavily and other stuff (that I don't do even when I'm not pregnant!) and they only left to go clubbing at 10.30 when I'm normally in bed by then. I just said it was too expensive, I would have to buy something to fit, I would be too tired, and would spoil everyone else's fun. I think she kind of understood but wasn't happy.

About the farm, I would be very careful anyway. Soil can contain nasties like listeria and toxoplasmosis (most farms have cats for the mice) and as someone else mentioned we are not supposed to touch sheep. I would avoid the whole thing, if I were you. You and your baby's health are far more important.

Oh forgot to say...I am totally craving chalk!!!! Am I lacking in something, or just strange;)

I knew I was anaemic before even getting my blood test results because I was craving steak!!!

I have the urge to eat insects when I see them, worms and moths and spiders too. Bizarre! I think perhaps my body is after protein as I'm vegetarian. All my bloods came back with good results so I know I'm not anaemic. Luckily, I have so far managed to resist!

I also want grilled halloumi all the time, with pickled chillies om nomnomnom :T

    Hello to the Herd

Just a quick update, Im not staying around long.....

Madwife on thursday elevated blood pressure.... baby heart beat fine, apparently my birth plan was good so happy days. Cried on her though because i felt like poo, told her about spots in eyes etc, got told to call if happened again.

Friday happens again, cant focus, felt dizzy and sick, got told to go immediately to birth centre. Couldnt get hold of DH at work, so cried loads coz of that, then just as I left house to start walking, tried him again and he was on his way home.
Get there, BP still elevated, takes my blood, urine sample has "something wrong with it" so get given another pot to pee in to be sent to lab....

This morning went round to drop off sample, and she said I'll check your blood results whilst you're here, save me ringing you later. Checks, one is higher than should be so she rings dr who says "get her straight in to labour ward".... got told to go home, get notes and over night bag.

Went in got hooked up to monitor, bp still high. urine was fine. babys heartbeat fine, apparently i was having tightenings according to monitor but i couldnt feel them.....then just sat there for 2 hours waiting for dr. Did get fed lunch though so that was nice LOL..... So at risk of pre eclampsia dveloping, and also reckon there is a problem with my liver..... explains the stabbing feeling top of my bump on the right, apparently it could be enlarging.

Sent home to rest coz I was bored at hospital, but have to call them as soon as i get a headache, spots in eyes, blurred vision, general unwellness..... problem is I've felt like poop ever since we got there LOL

Midwife is coming to house tomorrow to check BP and then I have to go back to day assessment at hospital on monday for re-check and more bloods taken....

Am officially well fed up and cant be bothered with it anymore..... feel sick, got no appetite, horrible heartburn.....and everything still ruddy itches!!!!
