Those of us not due in the next couple of months won't be getting much for the child trust fund - it goes down from £250 to £50 in August (or from £500 to £100 if you qualify for the higher rate). Then scrapped altogether from January. Linky here. I too hope they don't scrap the £190 at 25 weeks - that's paying for a big chunk of my pram too!
Been up to see the folks for the weekend and had a lovely day out with my Mum and big Sis in Liverpool on Saturday. Flump now has some lovely clothes to wear, thanks to Grandma and AuntieBlimey it was hot though! I had to leave them in Debenhams and wait outside - it was like a sauna in there. No wonder the shop was deserted, must've been a nightmare for the staff.

OMG I am sooooo hot, in a south facing tiny office with 4 men, we have two stand up fans, I have two roof lights which are letting in NO air whatsoever, and I just want to pass out (don't think they would notice if I did).
What the hell is it going to be like in a couple of months when I am heavily pregnant, just want to dive into a pool of ice cold water mmmmmmmmmmm0 -
It's baking here today!
OH caught me looking at bags on ebay and managed to wheedle out of me that I've always had rubbish stuff and no clothes really when I've gone into hospital, so he ordered me a nice bag from ebay and loads of nice PJ's and things from asda!
A small thing I know, but it made me feel all tearful and weird, even thought it was really nice of him!
Damn hormones!!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hi all,
I am 39 weeks tomorrow  I really thought baby would be here now as my ds came at 37 weeks. I don't feel too bad and baby seems comfy in there ........I am really hoping it comes by next week tho
I thought the ctf might get scrapped. I usually time stuff wrong like that - like stamp duty changed after we moved, you had to pay tution fees the year i went to uni instead of getting grant etc etc ... but both my two will have got the ctf - when they are 18 no will know what it was:rotfl:. Not sure my ds's would be worth much anyway now??! Prob less than he started with!
I have just eaten a nice cold icecream while bouncing on my birthing ball - I would recommend you all doing the sameI am nice and cool now

I don't mind bubs only getting £50 (or nothing at all) if the money is spent more wisely by the government on education, healthcare etc. Or they could use the money to train more new and nicer midwives;):)
I'm the usual oh what do I do:( Bubs really hasn't been moving. I've tried coke and ice cubes, lying down pretending it's bedtime, bouncing on ball. I have midwife 1st thing in morning.
Do I give bubs til a certain time to wake up and if nothing phone day assesment unit??? I feel a bit stupid:o I'm thinking I should just wait until midwife tomorrow and see what she says. Oh I don't know.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Hi everybody
I haven't been here for a while but thought I'd pop in today -still trying to skim through the posts to catch up.
I'm 34 weeks today and seeing consultant on thursday to get a date for my c section and another scan.Baby is still transverse and doesn't look like he or she will be shifting as physio and midwife both agree that my spinal deformiity has affected my whole body and therefore I have a tilted pelvis so baby won't be able to engage.
Sorry can't remember who asked about iron tabs but I have had a horrid time taking these with nausea and severe constipation (sorry tmi) , midwife mentioned spatone which has made a huge difference.I got mine from boots for £6.99 from the pregnancy vitamin section.
Delain-Yay for such a thoughtful and kind OH-It's nice being spoilt isn't it and pregnant women deserve to be especially in this weather.
smartie12 -Ring the MAU it's better than worrying yourself and you shouldn't feel stupid at all. They certainly won't mind you ringing or coming in-thats what they are there for.
Sorry for turning this post into an essay but just a question-
I feel baby moving alot but always kicks and squirms from where baby has his or her legs, I can even feel a foot easily but I never feel movement from the side where head is resting is that normal?Love can tame the wildest0 -
1more - I hope u don't mind me asking but when you went to see the consultant did they advise you to have a c section because of the spd? I'm suffering really badly with it, to the point that i can barely walk most days and i was actually going to ask the consultant about me having a c section when i go to see him/her on wednesday. I just don't see how i can give birth normally when i can barely open my legs and i have a problem with my back as well.
sorry luce only now have chance to post, my constultant didnt advise a c section i dont think her english was very poor,
i asked my midwife who said because i had it early on then she thinks the consulant expected my spd to get really bad, i must say its better now than it was earlier on, thank god but i am not doing the things that aggravate it unless i cant avoid it
my midwife wanted me to have crutches but i refused i also try to walk about as much as possible not sure if its helping but i feel better
im still undecided on what to say to the aneathetist, i really dont want a c section but what if she advises i have one?????? what would you do0 -
I'm not too sure what you should do to be honest, only you can make that decision. I would go and listen to what the anaethetist has to say and see what she recommends. Ultimatly at the end of the day its your choice as its your body. You have to be comfortable with what you choose, and do what you feels best for you and baby.
How much longer do you have left? I think possibly if your spd isn't too bad now then it might not actually get any worse, and as xmaslolly says its meant to get better when the baby engages as the pelvis stabilises.
Sorry i can't be more help hunStarted Slimming World 5/7/11 Weight loss so far 1 stone 11lbs :T

1more if you dont want a c section and there is no other problems with yourself or baby other than your SPD which from what you say you have under control then I dont believe they can make you have a c section. Obviously go in and listen carefully to what they are saying. It is best to have all the information on all the options so you can make an informed decision. SPD alone does not mean you can't have a natural birth they can only advise you on what they think is best it does not mean that it is always the right thing for you. Also once you have spoken to them do a bit of research yourself the more informed you are the better you will be able to communicate the decisions you make and reasons behind them when the time comes. Now im not advocating ignoring medical advise just that you make sure you know everything you can and you make the right choice for you and baby :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0
