Another (ex) dirt muncher here! I was a baby in a very remote town - Gove - which has a bauxite mine, so grew up as a nekkid orange baby from the bauxite dust, cos mum figured it was easier to chuck me in the bath then wash tons of clothes. My great granny used to say that you had to eat a bit of muck before you died, and she was 95 when she went, and had perfect health until 1 week before.

LOL @ nekkid always thought that was a blackcountry term.

I was never a dirt muncher (although i was always covered in it much to my mothers horror) i did try worms once it wasnt the most appetising thing ive ever eaten :-D

CAFC yeah we do that too, if it drops on the floor i'm really not that bothered, she's a little scruff pot anyway she loves getting really messy too. But luckily for me dd is only allowed to eat downstairs,i don't let any food in her room, not that i'm mean just god knows what life forms will start growing in there if i do :p and i so can't be bothered with checking for hidden foods, tidying her room is hard work enough :o

Same applies for hubby though :p:D Only i'm allowed cuppas or anything upstairs as i'm the only one who brings em back down. Hubby is bad for leaving food in his lunch box over the weekend :eek: Only he has to deal with it though as i don't make his lunch :p

I do remember regularly doing the 3 second rule even while out and about when i was a kid though :D Espesh sweets, they were too good to waste just cos they dropped on the ground and got a bit of dirt on em.
Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea
  • Hi ladies hope everyone is ok! congratulations to the new mummys!

Wondering if anyone here is claiming Maternity Allowance and can answer a quick question for me? According to their guidelines I am eligible because I have worked for at least 26 weeks during my 66 week 'test period'. Basically I have worked for the same employer for 3 years and I ceased working there on the 26th November 09 to be a stay at home mum to DS. At this time i was 4 weeks pregnant. So I should qualify as I have been recently employed. But looking through the claim form it seems to be that you have to have left your employer to have a baby and it asks when you went on maternity leave, this is really boggling me as if you have left employment how can you be on maternity leave? Also maternity leave can only start at week 29 and this is talking about week 25. Im so confused does anyone know what i should do? Im wondering if to eitehr leave that bit blank or to just put the date i left employment as the date i started maternity leave even though that doesnt make sense much. I should probably ring them and ask but I always find helplines like that stress me right out cos they never understand you!!

im forever dropping food on the floor when cooking and then picking it up and slinging it back in the pot. DH hasnt caught me yet which is good!

I'll have to teach Little L he can eat off the floor when mummy is around, but not daddy so much.....

Good god our dog smells. He's let one rip whilst chewing his bone by my foot, disgusting little blighter! For something so small, he creates such a stench!!!!

I'm now really bored..... really should get on and do my eyebrows.... they are blonde (also my natural hair colour but noone has seen that for about 3 years), so I just look permanently surprised.....they need dyeing.... badly!

Visited boots and found a manual avent breast pump reduced to £10 with lots of avent bits in a lovely bag, QUOTE]

I was going to ask about the pros and cons of manual v electric breast pumps; is a manual worth the hassle?

Also pumpkin patch has been and gone :( need to rearrange delivery so we shall see what arrives.

I missed my order and got a card to rearrange deliver. I missed the opening hours that eve but got a call from them at 8:30am and they delivered at MIL's address (wasnt at home) 2 hours later!
