ok peeps gym ball question
should i be bouncing up and down, rocking forward and backward or rocking side to side on it?
trying to invite my wee one to nestle downward, and start to engage ......
I bounced, it definitely helped ds3 move down....at my 38 wk appt he still hadn't moved down at all, MW told me to get bouncing on the ball so I did:)
Which reminds me, I have no idea where that ball went...I need to get another.
The morning I had my show and very mild irregular contractions, I got on it bouncing away like crazy, I think it helped the labour to progress and establish....got too painful to bounce when contractions got stronger though!!Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
Good luck for the house Delain.
Hope baby plays nicely for your scan tomorrow Smartie!!
All the talk about large knickers - why are they needed for the birth? Is it because they'll get messy and you don't want to use your existing ones??
I'm in need of a little advice please. My nephew came down with chicken pox on friday and I saw him two weeks ago. I'm not concerned for myself - I rang my mw who said that as I've already had it I have nothing to worry about. She also said I don't have to worry about being a carrier - does anyone know if this is true? I'm due to see my pregnant friend next weekend who hasn't answered my text about whether she's already had it, I don't know if that's because I quickly sent a follow-on text with what the mw had said, or if she'd rather not see me just in case but doesn't want to say so. How would you feel in her position? Should I back out?
If anyone needs a steriliser it seems they're on offer all over at the moment - today I got a Tommee Tippee microwave one for £11 in Boots, it was the best offer I could find at the time.
I've also been to my first car boot (inspired by Kitkat) and got a moses basket, baby bouncer, changing mat and loads of clothes including a sleeping bag for £27!! Very pleased with myself!
Labour vibes for whoever wants them!!0 -
Cafc i bounced on it too but i also used to rock my pelvis back and fourth on it if i wasnt up to bouncing both seemed to help :-)
Gina im pretty sure the midwife is correct if you have had it you already have the antibodies to fight it off so after two weeks you shouldnt have the virus in your system anymore to pass on :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Gena, yeah that's what the big pants are for. Maternity towels aren't the smallest of things either, so they wouldn't fit in skimpies! Methinks I need to get some soon, don't fancy the thought of the paper knickers though, just gonna get some cheapies.
Does anyone else have a bump that just randomly goes really really heavy? It'll be fine, and then all of a sudden feel like bubs has turned into a cannonball.

re gym balls, I found bouncing really good for getting baby engaged and in early labour, I found rocking really good for back/ hip ache and in later 1st stage when you seem to ache everywhere and it gets too painful to bounce.
Big knickers- Skimpies really wouldn't cut it I don't think. The towels are large in themselves and it is surprising how much blood loss you can have. Also your belly is really strange just after having a baby, like an empty bag, all saggy and yuk. I found the bigger pants helped straight after, as the feeling of tummy flopping about when you walk/ turn over in bed etc, really hurt in a weird, pulling way. Also if you have a section then I think they are handy for supporting dressing/ wound etc.
Been feeling so tired today and have done next to nothing. Also been a bit grumpy for no reason, and just generally getting fed up of lugging this heavy bubs about. 4 1/2 weeks left, though I'm thinking they will be a bit late as DD was. I really can't even think about it though, I want this one to be punctual seriously!!! At 37 weeks I am going to be pro-active and start eviction procedureI was waaaaay too laid back with DD, thinking, "Oh she will come when she is ready" ha ha!

Hehe - the days of me in skimpy knicks are long gone!! Not that I wear mahoosive ones I hasten to add!:D
My bump sometimes goes tight and solid and generally feeling weird - I put it down to bubs moving my not kicking - not sure if he's getting too big for somersaults though. Is that what you mean?
Thanks Xmas for the reassurance, if I saw her regularly I might have just cancelled but us and 2 other friends only meet every few months and I'd be really disappointed to miss it, though I'd never risk her little one if there was a chance of passing something on.0 -
Gena, yeah, that's kind of how it feels - tight and heavy. My days of skimpy pants are over for now too!

Ok, so I have been pregnant before, but DD nearly 7 now so cannot remember....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I am *about* 17 weeks, and I just feel really tight around my tummy and TBH, although this might be TMI, feel a bit windy LOL
I'm sure this is normal, but do I really have another 23 weeks of this discomfort!?!??! :eek:0
