and why would they say no?

It's massive and has a huge garden, 5 or 6 times our garden here :)

They might say no because we get a bit of help with our rent. Although I did make it clear that we would pay the full rent out of his salary each month and the top up wouldn't interfere with their rent at all!

Also they might feel we have too many kids. I'm not going to tell them about no.4 :o just wear a big jumper if they say yes we can view :o

We went and had a look at the outside today, and sent a message to the letting agents so fingers crossed I should know tomorrow morning if there's any point selling things to raise the deposit :rotfl:

    Thanks :)

I've said it before and will say it again, the tesco value sanitary towels are exactly the same as maternity towels only about two thirds cheaper. I did not know this when I had my 3, only found out when I sent a man to the shop (I know, I know!) He came back with those, and my first thought was OMG maternity towels :rotfl:

Xmas, those pics are so cute! Not surprised she didn't like being prodded by the scanner though.

    Pompey, congratulations on being pink!

Kitkat, it's definately worth looking on ebay for a pram, even if your OH isn't keen. I got mine - only 5 months old, fab condition, and the lady had paid £800 :eek:and we got it for £100.

but surely if you pay the whole amount from your account, and then get a little reimbursement from housing benefit, it shouldnt really matter.....

we pay our rent on our own, and then about a week later we get h.b paid in.but it doesnt involve landlord etc.....

We rang up about one house and the LA said that the lady's mortgage precluded ALL housing benefit top ups, even the £100/month ones

The agents were lovely though and did promise to call me back when they got anything else in my area.

This house is out of area for me which would mean a school move for my three, but the catchment area of their school can push up rents by over £150 a month  and all the schools near this new house are small and got fantastic ofsteds :)

I wouldn't even mention HB if possible...Letting Agents are w@nkers!!

The last 2 properties we have rented have been privately and we have had far less hassle than the 2 we found through agencies!!! We also get some HB but have never declared it as it comes straight to us anyway....as long as the rent gets paid on time i can't see it should be any of their business.

Good Luck, I hope you get it......We looked about last year as we were considering moving into a 4bed, but we really like where we are so have decided to stick it out here and comprimise with bedroom space. Maybe in a few years when the kids are a bit older and 'need' a bit more space, we might look about again?

Delian not telling the agents about the rent top up is an option but be aware you do run the chance of the landlords insurance not being valid if anything were to happen which could drop you and him init.
