YMakes i would think as long as they are not opened that they would have the same shelf life as the cartons which is around 12 months as its the same milk you may be better actually going into the shop though and picking out the box with the longest date on it :-)

Thanks. I'm hoping they have a few months at least. I would go pick them up in person but my local boots/asda don't seem to stock them in store, hence why I was going to order from the web instead.

    Hello ladies :D

Thought I would introduce myself first before I ask some impartial advice (although I'm not sure that a group of pregnant ladies will be too impartial) and then I'm off to read back a few hundred posts to catch up on your back stories (I'm not a stalker honest ;))

I'm 12+2 with baby number 3. Had a (private) scan on Wednesday due to a small scare at the weekend but have my NHS appointment on 17th May.

I have 2 DD's aged 17 and 7 (yes, I think I am mad :p) and DD2 was born with gastroschisis - thankfully there is no evidence of this with the current bean.

OH is 10 years my junior  and this is his first so he is slightly neurotic  which leads me nicely into my question:

I have registered to WALK the race for life today (I wouldnt be able to run or jog it if I wasnt up the duff :p) and I'll be around 18 weeks when it comes around. OH isnt happy, I really dont see a problem - do you think maybe I'm being too stubborn or is he being over protective? :confusedsmileythatdoesntexistanymore:

    Thanks ladies :D

Tigtag, I'd say its upto you as you're more experienced than your OH, however, I'm in a similar situation(except its my 1st but I'm not the cautious type!) and to keep the peace I've allowed DH to think he's told me I'm not allowed to do the Race For Life;) He's a lot more cautious than I am in general so figure it's not worth the hassle and bickering for me:) besides I can do it next year when I will have a buggy to lean on;):)

Hi Tigtag :) I ran the Cancer Research 10k at 6+5 weeks (obviously booked it before I got pg!) I know it's not quite the same as 18 weeks but I'm sure if you're just walking it you should be absolutely fine. Besides it's good to exercise when pg. I'd only been running since June last year, and the 10k was in the October, so I wasn't mega experienced. Good luck! xxx

Yikes, I go to work and the things you lot talk about!

    Agutka, congratulations on Benjamin!

CAFC - booo to the nasty stretchies, hoping you don't get anymore

Hi Tigtag! I guess it depends how your pregnancy is going so far. I'd say that so long as you weren't pushing yourself too hard, and keeping hydrated that doing the Race for Life should be ok at 18 wks. They normally have first aiders there anyway, if you do start to feel a bit off.

Pukkamum, that would've been an 'interesting' conversation :D. Very cool about your best friend though!

Woohoo, going to Ikea on Sunday, on the condition that I stop whinging about it or I'll get a kick up the bum :rotfl:Silly OH, doesn't he realise it's the whinging that 'convinced' him in the first place? Not a tactic I'd normally resort to, but I had visions of us leaving it so late to get bubs stuff, I'd be giving birth in a layby somewhere on the way to Leeds.

Cool i really want to goto ikea, but waiting for a day when me and mum can go together, DH wont go he hates the place :rotfl:
let us know if any good bits for bubs :D

I bought 2 maternity bra's from 'my special bra shop' and cost me £50 nearly died i pay that for nice ones normally (32E)
so... i got one from mothercare slightly bigger round the ribs as im expanding and its so uncomfortable, it has a wire either side and is digging in and really cr#p!!

Choccy, sounds promising - hoping you're getting mummy cuddles by tomorrow!

Kmckee, I know what you mean about OHs and Ikea! I think it's his least favourite place on the planet, but we need to borrow his work van to go. Does anyone elses OH hate it when you're in a shop and you're 'looking at things!' rather than running in grabbing something and leaving straight away? How on earth are you supposed to know what you want without looking? I love him, but he is odd :p

My OH can't stand ikea either! I have to admit I wasn't overly impressed by the baby stuff, depends wot ur looking for. The furniture wasn't bad price and there were some nice toys and sleeping bags. OH got me a couple of canopy's from there to go over cot, one has diff colour spots on it and the other has clouds, I really liked these as I thought it would make the cot look smug with a canopy over.

Ok so maybe I did enjoy looking at ikea but it's a 2 hour journey from where I live!
