I think my handbag would be big enough for just nipping out anyway, I can't 'do' tiny bags, they make me feel large, and I can't fit a book and half my shopping in.
CAFC, that is annoying. Bet if you'd ordered it would've been the wrong one!
Wonder if my iron tablets have kicked in, cos bubs has been sooo wriggly these last couple of days.

Why are families such hard bleeding work!!!! Sorry need a whinge!
Long story short - I got my HiPG - was looking for bits and pieces, found a lovely travel system for £109. Bargain. Went to order it - day before my mother pointed out that me and babe are rarely in the car with boyfriend so seemed a waste to spend good money on an expensive car seat when I could get a good cheap one as its going to have barely any use. Figured she had a good point so didn't buy it.
Anyway about 3 weeks later was offered a travel system on netmums - only 3 weeks old, barely used with car seat, buggy, in car base etc and she only wanted £50 for it and it was practically on my mothers doorstep - about 4/5 miles from her. Said yes please I'll take it and gave my mum the money for it ready to collect it. That was 2 weeks ago. Gave her details, address, directions etc and went about buying bits and pieces for babe with what was left.
Spoke to my mum yesterday night and turns out she didn't bother going to collect it and kept fobbing it off until it got to the point she rang the girl to cancel again and the girl lost her rag with her. So my mum told her to 'stuff' it basically :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: and then text me telling me - dont worry you will have a car seat and buggy.:mad::mad:
Plus my boyfriend who works in the same company as her said he saw her yesterday giving my sister £50 and that that was the money meant for the travel system.
Thing is she is going to Ireland on the 6th May and is home on the 16th - and has told me not to buy anything else until she comes home which to me reads as ' she's going to visit my nan and grandad who i haven't seen or spoken to in 6 years and is going to sob story them into buying it'. So bleeding annoyed its unreal. Stupid thing is as well is that she has a cot bed for me - that she's meant to bring up afterwards too.
Oh just so annoyed. and my money is gone! and I'm due to start getting maternity allowance on June 2nd so god knows what Im meant to do now! So stressed and annoyed its not funny.Time to find me again0 -
Sammy - Thats unreal! Sorry to sound harsh, coz its family and all but what your mum has done is well out of order, to you, your partner, the woman on netmums etc.
I call your mum and tell her you're going to collect another travel system and need the £50 to pay for it.
I'm up freakishly early (for me), got up at 8, am im all showered and cup of tea-ed already. think DH thought it was sweet I got up to see him off to work.....no doubt i'll need a nap later but I've got loads to do today so wanna get on.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
I'm feeling sorry for myself
Got the dreaded diarrhoea and vomiting bug with such painful stomach cramps (above my tummy button away from bubs). Hardly slept last night and was on the phone to NHS Direct at 3am this morning as I just felt soooo poorly.
Hope everyone else is having a better weekend.0 -
awww Ethel hun, sounds horrid.
All I can say is try and drink as much fluid as possible. You need to replace the ones you're losing, as well as needing extra fluids when preggers anyway.
Hope someone is around to look after you xx
Very quiet on here today....... where is everyone?
Ive done washing up, wiped over the kitchen sides and done a mammoth hoovering session, god damn dog hair is everywhere! And it sticks to the carpet.... and I cant afford an all singing all dancing dyson hoover with fancy pet hair attachment
Pug is down for a nap LOL and I need to put some laundry on and get that drying, and then after that.... not sure what else to do with my day....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hello all
spent most of yesterday sleeping was sooo tired hadnt slept well all week then night nannied on fri night. Did our monthly food shop last night bout 8pm and shelves were half empty in asda!! My leg and hip were agony all way round.
Does anyone know where can get a cheap (around £10 ish) maternity tankini in a sz 12, I wont swim much as get bad excema but thought may try and do some aqua natal classes to help with pain even if only go once every 2-4wks, also we have a weekend away booked end june and hotel has a lovely pool and I usually just wear my bikini as its soooo quiet but will have a larger bump then and though a tankini was better - no point get a swimming cossie as to tall and they are never long enough.
Also has anyone seen any nice maternity skirts or dresses all seem a bit frumpy or the other extreme and too short or too expensive for couple months wear.0 -
Hello Girls,
I posted this on the less than 12 weeks board but thought I would post on here for any reassurance anyone could offer.
I posted just before Xmas that I was getting AF cramps after getting my longed for BFP after trying for 18 months+. Sadly, despite being told this was quite common it was not meant to be and I had an awful Xmas/NewYear.
We have been trying since and I tested twice on 2 different tests yesterday 3 days before AF is due and I had 2 faint positives. I tested again this morning and again a faint positive (no darker than yesterdays) and also tested on an OPK (silly I know but I had no HPTs left and I know you can sometimes use these.) and this was also positive. I would be very happy with this except for the fact that I have the same AF cramps that I have every month and the same that I had in December so I am scared that the same thing is going to happen again.
Just wondered if anyone could offer any reassurance or anything I can do/take to help?
Thanks0 -
could try matalan freebie, theyve just started doing a maternity range...
as for dresses and skirts.... nicest ones ive seen are the red herring range in debenhams.... not sure about prices though

Glad you're feeling a bit more positive Courgette... and I totally understand about being a teacher and the timing of maternity leave/money etc:)
We're trying our best to clear my debts before bean is here so things will be a little easier for us.
CHANGING BAGS help please!!! I have no idea what to get it and didn't really think about one until I had a sudden thought last night that I would need one!:rotfl:I don't want to spend a fortune and don't care if it's not a "proper" changing bag.
It doesn't look like I'll ever get the voucher for the free Boots changing bag as Boots never ever seem to send me anything even though I've actually phoned in the past to check I'm on the mailing list!
I missed out on the Boots one too, and the tesco one..
Ended up buying a couple of cheapies off ebay - bag 1 & bag 2
I was more worried about what to use as a hospital bag & ended up buying a suitcase on wheels from argos for about £15 - I can't fit everything I think I need & my v-pillow (another ebay bargin!) in it though!
I seem to have got really bad swelling the past few days, my feet in particular look hideous!? I'm going to have a scan on thurs, so hopefully will get the OK still then... it's not painful, just annoying0
