Right, ladies and Bugfer, what do you reckon to the DreamGenii pillow? I'm asking cos our TK Maxx had 2 in stock for £30. I've half convinced myself I 'need' one, and just need someone else to say yes it's a good idea. Anyone got any experience with them?
Have you looked body pillows instead?? they do the same job and coz they aren't branded they're cheaper;) this is the one I've inherited off of my sister from when she had her 2, 7yrs ago!!! she absolutely swore by it and it was fab for breastfeeding too :) although now I've got it she really misses it:rotfl: I'm scared the next time she comes to mine she'll nick it back:o its dead comfy :D

ETA:there's quite a lot on ebay too like this one :)

  • CE- I have a similar problem with my own mum who isn't that old but doesn't have the same taste as me. She's so excited about the baby she's gone mad buying things (they have even been looking at bikes already!) and bought me a moses basket that is vile. I can't change the covers as she'd know. It's not bad, it's just all frilly and lacy and not what I would pick. I've decided just to be grateful and I suppose they use them for such a short amount of time it doesn't matter. If yours is old and horrid just buy a new one and say "Oh didn't it scrub up well?" :rotfl:
She's probably been saving OH's things for all these years waiting for a new baby so I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings either, just have a few pics taken and then say they don't fit anymore.
My mum is also buying me clothes, but they are things that she would wear and she seems to forget I'm only in my 30s. I have a case full of things I won't ever wear and I feel mean giving them to charity as she's paid out a lot for them. We have literally bags and bags of clothes, which is very generous of her but I want to choose my own things for my baby. I feel like saying "it's MY baby not YOURS" but then OH tells me I'm being an ungrateful cow and he's right. *sigh* hormones ...

Just waiting for my mw to come and go through my options as I'm carrying strep B so need to go on a drip as soon as my waters break apparently. Looks like I won't be avoiding the hospital as I wanted ...

CE i agree with every one else on the moses basket accept gracefully and then go buy a new one. I think i have mentioned before that the handle came off the moses basket i had for my daughter maybe you could tell a little porky and say it broke if she realises you have gotten a new one but i doubt she will :-)

Well ive been and sold all the rings my ex gave me got £300 for them which isnt bad at all really so im looking for a new kitchen table now :-)

Thanks for the links Fuzz. I'm not sure now, it doesn't do to be giving me choices at the best of times, much less when I can barely put together a sentence!

  • Well I'm not happy, didn't get my sweep:( it was a student MW and she said right at the beginning when she asked when I was due (yesterday) that Oh if you haven't had baby you can come back next week for a membrane sweep:( I didn't push it but am now so unhappy because if baby doesn't come on her own this week then it's going to be a nightmare. Next weekend both dd's are doing 4 theatre show performances and dd1 has her year 6 sats all the week after. The only people we have to look after kids when I go to hosp is FIL and as lovely as he is he has no idea when it comes to doing things for them. I am now panicking that if I have to wait til next fri for sweep then baby will come sometime over that weekend and if I am in hosp dd's won't be able to do their shows they've been practising so hard for so long and it would be letting whole production down and I also wanted things settled down a bit before dd's sats tests. Have been crying like a bumbling wreck to dh on the phone.

SO PLEASE I AM REALLY DESPERATE FOR THOSE LABOUR VIBES NOW LADIES .................xxx

Choccybikkie- Is there nobody from your DD's theatre group that can take them? Or what about the teacher? You might be able to get a lift sorted for them and to drop them back with FIL. As for your DD's SATS, she will be fine, it is not a test of what she knows and they will be doing a mountain of prep work at school anyway so you won't be letting her down. Just try to relax and you never know bubs may be born tonight! Fingers crossed. x

Bexta - I had the dream genie pillow. 2 for £30 is an amazing price but u obv dont need 2 so it's only really a bargain if you know someone to have the other one.

I found it invaluable up to about 28 weeks when the bit in the middle that you lie on started to really annoy me by wrinkling up and stopping me from getting comfy. From that point on I tucked that round it and just used it as a long body pillow to support under my bump and go between my knees.

Choccy - lots of labour vibes for you. really hope bubs comes soon.

huge labour vibes to choccybikkie, i'm sure everything will work out though with your children.
I've been tired too pigpen, although you have more of a reason than me, you're busy redecorating and looking after all your children.
