  • there are a couple of companies who make lovely packs for girls who have started their periods they are not cheap but equally not to expensive I prefer the pogo packs but others are just as nice. Google just for girls period packs and the other are the pogo packs

Thanks from me too freebie- think I will order one too in prep for when my 11 yr old needs it ( although don't think it'll be needed for a while- she's quite physically immature for her age). Good to have these things in prep tho :) Might take away from any embarrasment she may have too!

Freebies suggestion did make me wonder what ever happened to the free packs you used to be able to get from Tampax ive tried there site but cant find any mention of it anymore but then i am going back a good few years.

  • Yeah I remember that, we got given one at school. Think it was secondary school? I know your dd is older, mine is in her last yr of primary so don't know if they still do them or not??? We got them after watching a video, might not do them now seeing as they don't reccommend Tampons for the first few yrs?
God periods are one thing I really have NOT missed since being pg :rotfl:

As I have had such an immensely fantastic day I thought i'd come over here instead of the >12 weeks board.
Apparently there is some sort of list going about? 11th Nov for me please :) My signature needs changing.

Good luck with the impending labour choccybikkie!

Choccybikkie - sending lots of labour vibes your way :D

Just had a massive hormal breakdown, just couldn't stop crying. Hubby is in the pub but home soon, had to get DS to the bus stop so he could go to see his dad. DS wanted to go tomorrow so I had to do lots of nagging. I feel like a right !!!!! now but I really need some peace. I've been fine today with the SPD until about 90mins ago when it just became such agony. I'm trying to be cheerful and remain positive but you know how we have this image of ourselves and our lives? Well mine doesn't involve me being on crutches and where the tiniest of task is a huge effort. That's no offence to anyone in that situation but there is nothing in my background that prepared me for this and I can't stand feeling so helpless. I keep trying to tell myself that I'll get used to it and I'll adapt and it's only temporary but right now I'm really hungry and I just don't have the energy to make some food. People keep asking me when I'm going on mat leave and I really wanted to stay to the end of term cos this is best for everyone but I just don't know. I keep saying just focus on tomorrow but I'm only 24 weeks and I don't know how I'm supposed to cope with this pain for another 3 1/2 months. Sorry, just feel so upset and so fed up. The house is filthy and I just don't want to live in !!!! for the next 3+months. I don't want to start ML too soon and be at home, lonely and in pain. I just don't know what to do
    Updating soon...

By the way is there any particular good makes for a cot mattress and a moses basket mattress?
I'm sorry about how you're feeling courgette. is there anyone who could stay with you, like your mum or a friend, to give you a hand? I hope you feel better soon and I'd be the same taking it one day at a time.

awww courgette hun, i dont know what to say other than sending you big hugs....

choccy - am willing you all the labour vibes in the world, although i have a feeling it'll be sunday labour, monday birth :)

planted out our veggies, although may have grossly miscalculated (after reading the kind of space each plant needs) how many pots & compost we need LOL but we've managed to get them really cheap so going out again tomorrow to source the rest and spend more of the day planting them out. looks quite homely already and we've only got a courgette plant and 3 pots of carrots LOL

Baby is having another really active day. DH pointed out that i seem to get exhausted and breathless very easily now, and then he read a magazine of mine and freaked out because breathlessness, leg cramps and faint sensations in your legs can be a sign of embolism (sp?) bless him......

packing hospital bag tomorrow WOOHOOO 34 weeks!

Courgette ((((HUGS)))) let everything out then take a deep breath and start planning writing down what needs doing in order of importance then do one thing a day more if you can manage it, as you tick the things off you will feel so much better and rope your other half into doing what you really cant do. If you cant cope at work then go on mat leave its pointless working yourself into the ground they wont appreciate it and it wont do you and bean any good at all. i do hope you get more good days than bad ones i only had mild SPD but it is a horrible thing to have to cope with on top of everything else we go through :-) x
