I will be taking wipes! I think you get a tiny free sample pack in the bounty thingy anyway, or you used to.

If you do take cotton wool, as someone else said, take the flat stuff! The balls are stupid.

I've decided to use my larger handbag to take with me for my labour bits, like books, my DS etc. as I already have 2 hospital bags!

I'm taking some cotton wool, but quite a few wipes! I want convinience after that ordeal
  • Hello all

had 2nd (and last) antenatal class this morning for 3hrs was women only was suppose to be 15-20 of us only 9 turned up. It was all about breast feeding and caring for baby -well sort of didnt do bathing or nappy changing just went on about how disposables are bad for environment and cost lots and wipes contain lots chemicals!! As a maternity night nanny and also a qualified childrens nurse I could easily have not gone as didnt learn anything but felt I should go - i tried not to answer too many questions the midwife asked but no-one else was even having a go either people didnt want to answer or just didnt know.

A couple of women did my head in asking the most ridiculous questions surely people are not that thick there is some common sense involved in having a baby and one of them everything had happened to her in her pregnancy - i wanted to shout shut up at them.

Got a couple of bargain wicker baskets in sainsburys no price label on shelve so checked price and were £1.25 - decent size, one can go in our bedroom and one in lounge with nappies, wipes etc to save keep going up and down to babies room as we are on 3 floors in our house. These sized baskets are £10 most places.

I'm gonna take in cotton wool rather than wipes but because I think there'll be some in the bounty packs. I got a full sized pack in the delivery suite then another on the postnatal ward with both of mine so if I take some in I'll be overloaded with them. If they are not there OH can bring some in. With our first we had heard about the whole only using cotton wool and were trying to do things right, OH first ever nappy change and after about 10 cotton wool balls the midwife walked in and said I'd just use wipes for those first few poos if I were you, so much easier. I still couldn't sit up so no way I could do it.

With the august babies I do think there can be a huge difference when they first start school in reception but fast forward a couple of years and you wouldn't know which are the youngest in the year. I do think its nice to have your birthday during school holidays too although it can make parties difficult to organise.

Been to the beach this morning, came home early because it was really windy and I didn't take the windbreak because I didn't think I'd be able to hammer it in. The kids didn't care in the slightest about the wind and were in and out the sea trying to convince me it was warm - yeah right. Am shattered now though and OH just rang to say he is gonna be really late tonight great.

None of mine have had to be in school on their birthdays as the twins birthday falls in the Easter holiday.

New little monster might be the only one, unless she's early!

Well I have returned from town....without the Clary sage oil! What a numpty. I suppose thinking that Alex needed new milk bottles, I needed to find a 30th birthday present and keep Alex from running off took my mind off of the Clary Sage oil

Ah well. OH said he doesn't want tomorrow anyway as he's just done a full week at work and is knackered.....

And I'm not?! :rotfl: bless him though.

MW measured me. I'm measuring 36cm so if I gave birth tomorrow I should be having a 7lbs 2oz baby. :D

Went into our local Material store though and bought 4yrds of Material for 2 Kari Me style wraps :D £16 for both. Very MSE :D :money:

  • Afternoon ladies,

been to the hospital yesterday and they've agreed to induce me on wednesday 18th and get this baby out!!!! Feel so much better for knowing my misery will be over in a week and i'll have my little baby!! and then the fun really begins....

I've been for reflexology this morning to try and get things moving before then, kind've hoping i'll have baby tomorrow as it would be quite amusing and a fitting end to how i've been feeling for the last 20 weeks.
