Just read the thread, glad it worked out for you :) I'm relatively new to this part of the boards and the community here is so lovely.

I need to lose a couple of inches so my dress is comfortable when I sit down, it fits great when I'm standing but squeezes a bit when I'm sitting! Hate diets and don't feel that I need to result to drastic measures like starving myself. I'm hoping it just comes off naturally over summer when I am more active! If not I'll be investing in a corset!

havent read all the posts , but are you sure the dress doesnt fit . My daughter tried hers on with her future MIL helping her , and couldnt get the dress over her hips ! It turned out they were just trying it on wrongly ( one of those thats laced up all down the back ) and it fitted fine

    Hi guys,

Sorry to resurrect this prehistoric thread :D

I need to get this off my chest. I have 1 week before my dress needs to be finished and my parents can take it up to Scotland which was the plan. My dress maker, and I really like her, she is great and I trust her is having personal problems and keeps cancelling on me for fittings.

Can anyone tell me how much work is left after the dress has been taken apart to put extra satin in?

I have had such a bad day today and finding the stress of my dress taking its tol l on my happiness. I should be enjoying every second of the planning, but this saga is not ending when it should have been by now.

I really can see me wearing one of my dresses for honeymoon now instead of my gown. OMG why is this happening to me?!

My sister's dress ffitted her perfectly and suited her down to the ground. Then she had to swtich to the contraceptive injection and she puts lots and lots of weight on and we had a moment like you....mum and i even went into the dress shop to discuss other options so we had back ups in case the dress didn't fit....We did manage to get it altered though and whilst it wasn't exactly how my sister wanted it, it did very nice on the day so i can sympathise...

I can also sympathise from my angle...My wedding dress was altered incorrectly (too small) and written off two weeks before the wedding  The dress i ended up getting everyone says how beautiful i looked in it and they thought it a lovely dress appropriate for the occasion...

and yes i went through i don't care i'll wear one of my posher dresses already in the wardrobe phase...

The memory and upset did stay with me and I have yet to sell the other dress which can be sold as a size 8....
