    Firstly, thank you all for your amazingly inspirational replies. I will try and answer all the questions. I am embarrassed as hell, please do not flame me, but I am overweight by alot.

    Don't be embarresed, you are currently running around like a nutcase and these things happen. Try whichever works for you, you say you can loose a stone, great, you know you can do it! :D Also add 'slimming' pants (they will help even just a weanie bit) and that wrap thingy I said about (I lost at least 2.5 inches on my thighs), you'll fly into that dress :) With support from everyone it'll be easy! When is the big day?

  • I'm with Jackie, walk walk and walk, at your weight its the best excercise you can do.
    Whatever you do dont starve yourself either, write meal plans with healthy meals and fruit or nuts as little snacks. You need to feed your body otherwise it will think your starving it and slow itself down so you burn less calories.

    I think someone mentioned about underwear, I have a corset which does the most amazing job ever. As for pull me in pants, that seems to bring my tummy u (great for summer dresses) but it doesnt slim my hips (have some for honeymoon) :(xxxxx

    Have you tried tum and bum shaping tights? Some of them suck you in a bit and I can feel the difference if I'm wearing a tight skirt.

  • Hire a treadmill too and use it!!! All the time you are in the house doing nothing, walk, watching TV? Walk!! Reading a book? Walk? Listening to music?.well you get the idea. You can do this. I have been watching The Biggest Loser for inspiration on losing weight, and these people train four hours or more a day, but it's intense excercise, and were losing up to eight pounds a week! Now I'm not suggesting that will happen, but you need to move as much and as frequently as possible, and walking is as good as anything. Obviously if you have enough time you can simply walk outdoors, but if not a treadmill that you can use safely indoors at all hours is a good bet.

    id go for this kind of thing maybe a body wrap and something like slimming world - dont crash diet cause ull feel awful for ages but just keep what you were doing will smaller portions and try and exercise as much as possible!

    i really hope you get this all sorted you can do it!

    Please do not be embarrassed, if you are already fit through doing all of the exercise then give the ball a go (not a small heavy one, but the big inflatable ones) they work on your shape. The thing about the wii fit is that it'll sort your cardo but not your actual shape as you have to tome the muscles underneath and this is what the ball did for me, I never lost any weight but I did go down a size.

    I was on the depo and it was a nightmare, I lasted 6 months. I put on a stone in 6 weeks and I was already 2 stone overweight - the doctor told me afterwards that the depo (if we are talking aout the same contraceptive jab) puts pregnancy hormones in your body and this is why you put on weight.... :eek: but I went to weightwatchers and I lost 2 stone in 4 months.

    What I learned from WW is that sometimes it is not about portion sizes but what is going into those portions. And I apologise for sounding like I am giving you a lecture - I just wanted to offer some help really so please do not see it as me lecturing you and hope I am not coming across this way.

    Absolutely agree, it would be the worst thing to do. Do not eat dried fruits, you think they are healthy but they are loaded with natural sugars and are quite bad for you.

    Mikado are quite good if you need a chocolate fix.

    I've just bought a weightwatchers e-book on eBay for £2 all in and it has all the points plans and how it works as well as some recipe books. The thing I did not like about slimming world is that it encourages you to eat and pick all day rather than making you think about portion control and what you are eating.
