So as I said only FireFox is showing significant cpu usage. System idle is exactly that - unused cpu sycles. In addition FireFox is using one hell of a lot of memory. From post #35,( not sure how I can supply more info on this);- "From post #10;- "CPU usage is showing most operations as 00, but System Idle is showing from 00 - 98, with Mem Usage at 98k.
Firefox.exe is also showing from 00 - 98 CPU usage, with Mem Usage at 327464k
The CPU Usage tray icon is showing 11%" .0 -

Sounds easy enough:D
What about the "operating system" and other(s) that will be on the HD?
Any recommendation for an external HD?
I don't need a large one, my computer only has 80gb, and that is partitioned;-
'C' , used space 15.6GB, Free space 3.86GB, capacity 19.5GB.
New volume 'D', used space 1.52GB, Free space 55.6GB, capacity 57.1GB.
well the idea with backing up is that you only back up your files and not your programs,
so things like your picture, music, videos, and documents as all of your programs should either be easily down loadable or on a disk (which you should have + keys),
then when you format and reinstall windows (you will need the disk and the key) it will wipe EVERYTHING on the computer giving you a nice clean slate to start again on
what i like to do before i format i create a 'useful stuff' file on my back up hard drive and download all the relivant drivers and the programs i know i want like anti virus, firefox and open office and put all of them in the usefull stuff file, this then allow me to install all my programs on the newly formatted and clean installed drive without going online and waiting for the downloadsDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
