  • hi choc-addict and savingwannabe, thanks for your kind words and support:)

choc-addict, your not rambling! lol I know exactly what you mean and where you are coming from!!

I must admit, to come as far as I have and to still be living here, I must be alot stronger than I first realised. I am so thankful that I found this forum, I think I would have lost the plot if I hadnt!:rotfl:

You are both so right, I must just focus now on the debt issues and my DD, IT can do what the hell he likes, no more feeling down trodden, no more feeling depressed, no more feeling sorry for myself, and no more to being made to feel that I am a useless wife and mother! I know that I am NOT those things.

Heres to all our futures, to being debt free, and to being happy:j

    speak soon xx

  • morning all, up early this morning (must be mad!) lol to walk to the doggie.

DD's first treat for her birthday was last night, only half budgeted for unfortunately, although I do feel quite good about the fact that at least part of it was budgeted for. We took her to see a show (OH's idea) and I didnt realise that he had put the cost of the tickets onto his cc:mad: so it was to late for me to stop him. Oh well, she had a good time, thats the main thing I suppose.

More stuff going on today, however, these things have been budgeted for:j so at least I can spend the rest of the weekend relaxing knowing that I havent got to find any extra monies (fingers crossed!!!)

have a great day everyone, catch up later (if im not exhausted!! lol) x

  • hi all, just got a quickie question before i start my busy day! lol

I have got about half a packet of frozen lamb mince in the freezer. I used some on thursday and then my OH decides to tell me he hates lamb! I never knew this! doh! He then proceeded to tell me that I am a dumb a*** for buying it:mad: anyway, I dont really wanna throw it away and cos lamb has got quite a distinctive/strong taste, is there anyway I can use it up but disguise the taste? has anyone got any ideas? I sooooo dont want to waste it.

    thanks x

I'm not a big fan of lamb but i'm sure you can make homemade mint lamb burgers or something - google lamb burgers....perhaps a little bbq treat for you and DD?? Sure someone will come along with some more suggestions :D

P.s - just because OH hates lamb doesn't mean you can't have it in the house , make those delicious home made burgers (or anything someone else suggests) and then eat them with a big smile on your face in front of him :rotfl:
  • inspired by 40sm, I have decided that I should set myself some weekly challenges.

Top of my agenda is definately groceries, there are only 3 of us and 1 dog, and yet my bills can be horrendous and I meal plan! I seem to be useless at stretching meat and I really need to sort this out.

So my challenges for this week are:-

    1. Groceries
    2. Keep a closer eye on OH:mad:
    3. Search for a better deal on dog food
    4. pay at least a little bit extra off of the debts
    5. Search for more ways to earn some extra pennies!
    6. Lastly and by no means least! try not to let things get me down and be more positive as a person:D

That should do it for now I think!

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the sunshine!:D

I wonder if perhaps his spending is related to other things - I'm probably sure you've already thought about it etc - but perhaps his buying more for her is his way of making up for his horrible behaviour?? Or perhaps it just makes him feel better if he spends? I know that I can be an emotional spender - and have done so many times in the past when i've been down etc.

Glad bday was well, not so good on the extra money but i'm sure you will sort this JC - you sound a very strong woman! xx

Glad I have inspired somebody!! If you don't make the lamb burgers you can always make it into bolognase or chilli and then I am sure he would not know the difference. Cook it when he is away then freeze it .... he will never know;).

Oh and belated happy birthday to your lovely little DD. How old is She ??
    :bdaycake:

 to DH spending on cc but at least it is on DD and not himself ;)

    Have a good day.
