Ooh Butterfly Brain, what's apple scone, never heard of that before, would you like to share the recipe, those are two of my favourite things? Here you go Jackieglasgow x
8oz plain flour
½ tsp salt
2 x tsps baking powder
2oz butter or marge
2oz caster sugar
1 med sized cooking apple, peeled , cored and coarsely grated
4 tbsps milk
To Glaze
1 tbsp demerara sugar (but you can use caster sugar)
A little milk- Sieve together flour, salt and baking powder.
- Rub in the butter.
- Add the sugar, then the grated apple and add enough milk to make a soft but not sticky dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly. (I then wrap in a little cling film and allow it to rest in the fridge for half an hour not neccessary but I find it helps )
- Roll out to an 8 inch circle and place on a greased and floured baking sheet.
- Score the scone into 8 pieces.
- Brush the top with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake at 200c/gas 6 for 20 - 25 mins or until well risen and golden brown.
- Place on a cooling rack too cool.

hey everyone, lovely day here again today, typical seeing as DS1 has gone to school!
Have hoovered downstairs and the curtains (full of cat hair) and waited for the tesco man to bring my shopping. Again they didnt bring me any nappies and I'm convinced they wont substitiue cos the next price up is £3 more expensive and they dont want to price match it. third time now this has happened so i'm going to have to spend more than I wanted too - sooner DS2 decides to use the toilet the better!
I also ordered a cake mix and tey didnt have any so they sent yorkshire pudding mix - why? cakes dont taste like yorkshire puds.
Ladygrim - take care

Hi all
Hugs to Ladygrim & MSD
I'm back from yet another sort out of friends mum's flat, thought we'd finish today, but forgot about the conservatory, so we'll do that in the next half term. I came home with 3 Phillipa Gregory books, yet more wool, yet more sewing supplies, including 2 tatting bobbins & 1 & a half preemie cardigans. I'll finish of the half a cardi & then send them both off together.
The washing had dried on the line while I was out & the WM finished so I've hung the 2nd load out, the chicken casserole smells yummy, just the veg to do with it. I half about an hour till hubby needs picking up, so I'll put my feet up & start one of the books til he phone..
Hugs Hester

Hey everyone have you missed me :rotfl:
Am now typing on a lovely new laptop although it's made us £400 lighter  Still the other one was sooooooo old it's rather nice having a nice shiny new one
I will try and catch up with the weekends threads. Not much going on at Chez Bitsy. No real housework done for over a week - 2 weeks at Easter is FAR too long. With having mindees for nearly 2 hours extra a day and DS being at home and DD turning into the demon child for demanding attention I am hardly getting anything done apart from the washing and putting the vac round the downstairs rooms. I hate it. The house feels filthy and it bothers me
Anyway not much else to report. Yesterday was H's birthday and we had a lovely albeit cold day at Cotswold Wildlife Park. Was bloomin' freezing here this morning (typical the kids just had to be out in the garden ) but sun is out now so hopefully it will warm up slightly.
Done 3 loads of washing and dried it outside (thank goodness for the breeze at least!) and I really need to get cracking on other things but have a friend on her way to drop off pressie for H so still not going to get any housework done.
Tea tonight.....no idea :rotfl:
Diva - hope you're feeling better now you're home.
Ladygrim - hugs to you xxx
Hugs to anyone else I've missed. Think it's time to check out the Flylady as I can't go on not getting any housework done

Hello OSers
Julie67 - I so hope work went ok for you, it is so daunting going back after a long break.
LadyGrim - lots of supportive vibes being sent your way.
I am feeling more emergised than I have in ages so hoping to start fly lady tonight and do some OS bits. Not quite sure what yet but I will let you know tomorrow. Spent a lot of last night placing free adverts online for my new business. It's fun seeing my business get so many hits now when I type it into a seach engine! Also look on MSE site and have chosen to transfer my ISA so need to get the wheels in motion on that.
The sun has been trying to come out all day but not quite managed it, he needs a personal trainer!:cool2:
Hugs to all xxxx
p.s. I love Coco's red collarHmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!0
