Hi everyone,
No posts over the weekend because SisIL is here. We went to the Ministry of Food exhibition on Saturday followed by the Cuban Ballet - it didn't get a very good review but we enjoyed it.
Had a quiet day yesterday as my hands and feet were really hurting.
I need to do the washing and change the bedding as soon as she has gone today, I've taken the morning off work so that I can see her off and do a couple of things.0 -
Morning all,
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Benthosboy, hope you are getting on ok xx
Jackie, coco is absolutly beautiful, she is really enjoying the sun, my dog does that basking thing :rotfl:
Got loads done in the garden yesterday, mowed and strimmed the lawn, planted my tomatoes, runner beans, and an advacao pip, which I had dried, dont know if it will work, but we will see, put all my various pots around the garden, got my table and chairs out, it actually looks like a garden nowoh and I also had to move a plum tree which I planted a few weeks ago, I hope it wont hurt it, but I had planted it too close to the neighbours house and OH thought the roots might affect them, photos of little dog 'helping' me to dig on my FB page :T
OH put a coat on the utility and loo, will try and get another done today.
I have a load of towels on the line, and another lot in the wm, its such brilliant drying weather at the moment.
I need to do an online shop today, dont think we need an awful lot, and I want to bake someting involving bananas and chocolate
Ok have good days all x
Julie, hope all goes well today xx0 -

I am now going to moan about freecycle:
On Friday I put a large parlour palm on our local freecycle, I had several replies, so put the names in a hat and drew one. contacted the person and asked her to phone and let me know when she was coming to collect..........no phone call, waited all Saturday....nothing, so after supper emailed again, I got the weirest email back, she could not phone me as her parrot had chewed her phone!!! but could she collect yesterday....fine..............sent instructions how to get to us waited all day.........no collection, so last night I emailed her again and said that as she had not contacted me to say she would not be collecting I was going to let the second person I drew have the plant. I fired off a note to the admin asking for them to remind people if they changed ther minds about what was offered to let the donor know, the idiots published it as a message from me instead of an offical message, this morning I have had a stream of emails castigating me for giving the plant to someone else........sorry but its my decision....the first person did not have the good manners to let me know she had changed her mind....so I was free to gift it to someone else.
This is not the first time this has happened, so I have decided that I will no longer offer things through freecycle, but if they are portable I will take them to the charity shop and any plants will go in the bin.........
Its a shame as often something you no longer need can often be exactly what someone else can use, but I feel justified in my decision. If the second person does not turn up today the plant will go in the bin with the garden rubbish.
Rant over....sorry but things like that make me so cross.
.
I too have no end of non-showers from Freecycle , they are so rude. I have given up with it.
It just does not make sence to me as I would rather get it for free and stop things going to landfill sites and I could not be so rude as not to contact someone if there was a prob with pick-up.
My OH has been banned from our Freecycle site for ranting about non-showers and had loads of support from other fed-up users/offer's.
I thought it was just Derbyshire areaGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Just having a breather while having my lunch, been busy all morning.DS1 started his new job this morning- I felt like it was his first day at school even tho' he's 30 :rotfl:It'll be a big change after being unemployed for 15 months, but hopefully he'll soon get into the swing of it.
I've changed all the beds, washing on the line, cleaned all the wheelie bins and tidied all the bedrooms,so now I'm going to do what I want this afternoon :pI got a book from the library called Quilt yourself Gorgeous, there's a baby quilt in it that I'm going to do for a friend who is due in a couple of weeks. There is also a picnic blanket made from denim,so I've collected all the old jeans to cut into squares.
Tea tonight is beef stew, and I'd better put the BM on too.
Jackie, its great to see you having so much enjoyment from Coco,we do the same with ours:rotfl:
Diva-hope you are on the mend very soon.

Afternoon all
I'm in work today, wish I was out in the sun though!
I swear my colleagues are trying to sabotage my diet/fitness regime! I walked to work this morning, but one colleague drove past me about 5mins from work and stopped and offered me lift. I said no but he was insistant and was holding up traffic so had no choice! And now 2 of them have had chips for lunch and have put some on my desk for me to have cos they think my salad is not enough for me! :rotfl:
Not much OS for me today other than putting laundry away and making dinner, think it will be pasta with tomatoey sauce but not fully decided yet.
Have a good day all
