For those looking for the addresses of the directors - this is still possible you need to get hold of the 363a annual return that was filed at companies house on 08/10/2008. This lists the addresses of all the directors.
It was also noted that Peter Kitson is director of this company. He is also a director of the following companies:
Gardening Offers Limited
The European Mobility Group Ltd
The Grey Group Limited
The Mobility Rental Group Ltd
The Great British Bathing Company Limited
Beds & Chairs Direct Limited
The Great British Scooter Company Limited
The Great British Bed Company Limited
I hope this helps somebody
I had a feeling that this would be the very next post I read regarding this 'Company' and there it was! I feel so sorry for the people they have conned. Its really awful.0 -
I had a visit from an 'advisor' from Great British Mobility yesterday.
The first thing he said when he came through the door was that he had been at Doncaster Hospital all morning following a request from a consultant who would not let a gentleman go home, following an amputation due to diabetes, until he had a chair to improve the circulation in his other leg.
Interestingly, when I first called Great British Mobility one thing they asked was did I have diabetes? To which I answered 'yes'. So, was this pure coincidence that this 'advisor' had visited someone else with diabetes the same day or was it 'scare tactics'. Let's give this 'advisor' the benefit of the doubt for now....
But, the 'advisor' then went on to claim that he had worked at Doncaster Hospital for 20 years and had 60 occupational therapists working under him before leaving to work for Great British Mobility six years ago.
He also claimed that Doncaster hospital got all its equipment from Great British Mobility whilst he worked there and continues to get all their equipment from Great British Mobility and that Great British Mobility has been going for 38 years. Actually, the owner of Great British Mobility only started selling such equipment eight years ago, when the company was set up!
The 'advisor' also claimed that his father was an orthopaedic surgeon at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge and that is how he got into this type of work. He also suggested connections with Papworth Hospital near Cambridge. He seemed a little taken aback when I told him that I was an orthopaedic patient at Addenbrookes and also used to work in Papworth Industries - the same village as where Papworth Hospital is based.
I contacted 'Doncaster Hospital' and spoke to the Deputy to the Chief Occupational Therapist. She said this 'advisor' is completely unknown to any of the three NHS hospitals in Doncaster and that Great British Mobility supply no equipment to the Hospital and that Great British Mobility is completely unknown to them. She went on to say that no male has ever been in charge of occupational therapists for at least 30 years!
I also contacted Addenbrookes and Papworth hospitals who did not know of this 'advisor' or Great British Mobility whatsoever. The Orthopaedic department said no-one with the same surname as this 'advisor' had ever been an orthopaedic surgeon at Adenbrookes, so it is a fair assumption that this advisor's father was never an orthopaedic surgeon there.
One other thing that the 'advisor' said was that the NHS provided grants to his company which the company could use to get money off certain items in their product range. The advisor told me that I could get £200 off a rise-recline chair if I chose one from a limited fabric range.
I am now reporting this company to the relevant authorities.0 -
Wish I knew who this idiot was, sounds like one I have come across.:rotfl:0

The salesperson was STEVE CARPENTER. I voice recorded his whole visit and then called the company back to challenge what the salesperson said.
The sales manager I spoke to admitted that Great British Mobility does not sell to hospitals or that they get grants from the NHS. He said he had no knowledge of STEVE CARPENTER claiming to be the son of an orthopaedic surgeon. He also seemed surprised that STEVE CARPENTER claims to have been a former employee at 'Doncaster Hospital'.
I also recorded my phone conversation with the sales manager - he said he would call me back - he has not of course!
I get the Motability magazine, which is full adverts for disreputable mobility companies - I want to call out each of them and present my evidence to Motability.0 -
Here is proof that Great British Mobility is not on the NHS Supplier List...

Today, I received a recorded delivery letter of apology from Great British Mobility. They say they have a Code of Practice to identify unacceptable selling practices.
They say that Mr. Steve Carpenter has expressed remorse at his behaviour and that this will never happen again. They claim that Mr. Carpenter will be subject to a disciplinary proceeding.
The letter of apology was accompanied by a £50 voucher to spend at a well-known High Street Store.0 -
Just in case anyone is still in any doubt, neither Doncaster Royal Infirmary nor Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has any connection with Great British Mobility or Martin Carpenter. We do not use their products.
Now that we have been made aware of this, we will be writing to them to ask Mr Carpenter / Great British Mobility to stop mentioning our name in connection with their products.0 -

I have recently been made aware that a salesman for this company has managed to get my mother in law to purchase one of there rise and recline chairs.
Now i know that they arent oozing money and my Mum in law does have some health issues mostly arising after a stroke.
The salesman appeared to be sympathetic and told her he had previously had a stroke aswell.
To cut a long story short the chair will cost after 3/4 years 4000.00 pounds.
I find this to be a totally unatural price for a chair that quite frankly is cloth covered which is not convenient and also doesn't to be an improvement over the 250.00 chair that they allready own.
I believe my mum in law will be contacting the company tomorrow to cancel the chair , i await with bated breath and will endavour to keep all informed.
