  • BB - I know what I'm doing with my finances as well, but I feel that by joining in a challenge like that just keeps me in line. I must admit, it is totally different now to when I first joined, and I miss the "old" members who used to frequent the thread, but oh well.
oh yes, I can definitely see the benefits of the forum/challenge keeping you in the right head space. I didn't plan to leave , it just kinda happened when it changed so much. I really enjoyed the 4k as it was. But things alway move on and evolve, tis the way of life and a reminder to enjoy 'now'.
Also I came to realise, I don't have any big dreams to save for: I have a lot of times of illness in my life, (this autumn has been a write off for example) where life is very restricted.
So if I am well, I want to enjoy meeting friends for coffee etc and not see that as 'unfrugal' but embracing and living life now.
I realise although my income is not high, I have enough to live the simple way I want to/can so cutting back isn't really necessary any more than I have done.
And I have completely changed my diet for health reasons so can't go picking up bogof's and cheap deals etc becasue they are not the sort of food I eat generally anyway.

Big mumma -if I recall, I think you you may be just along the coast from me...
yes bails was originally getting married in Sept but they moved it to Dec when she very unexpectedly got a fulltime teaching job. They they had to move it again due to an offstead inspection due the week before the wedding(). This time it is definitely happening in feb, lol. She's just been up to her eyes in it work wise and hasn't been on mse due to time.

10 inches of snow for us here. And I'm nice and warm indoors:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Haha I know, Taxi, I'm good normally :D

Another snow day for us today - thankfully it hasn't snowed any more over night, but it is really really cold outside so I'm glad I'm not having to drive anywhere. I'm going to have a walk into town in a bit and buy some big padded envelopes and some sellotape. I need to post some presents today, so I need something to put them in! I also need to pop to Mr S for some bits and bobs :)

I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2lbs this week :j :j I am trying so hard to eat more healthy, so I'm hoping it's beginning to take effect.

Also transferred £13.56 to the wedding savings, drip drip drip. It's slow going, but we've already got over £500 in there, so can't be too bad!

Spent over £7 at the Po$t Office, posting and buy stamps and whatnot  and that's not it all yet! Eeeek.

It's so cold :( I'm sat wearing big wooly socks, in a fleece blanket and I still can't get warm :( Just put the heating on a boost - I don't even care about the cost right now - as I'm just cold. My hands are numb. :(

Yay for it being friday! :j Birthday weekend here I come :D (not that I want to be another year older on Monday!)

I was meant to be going shopping with mum tomorrow, but as the road she needs to use to get there is currently closed, I don't see that happening!

We're going out today to buy our first Christmas tree! :D I'm a tad excited... :o also need to finish the Christmas shopping - am pleased that we seem to be sorted so early :)
