DL the version 1.0 files.

Read the pdf documentation for instructions.
If you want to try it, then may be best to skip the items that require root permission at first; e.g. gdm theme, boot theme, etc....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

boot time is excelent on my laptop.
It's 31 seconds from after the POST to the working desktop.
my old laptop was around 1m 20s from the same point to the desktop!
I'm hoping to get a ssd later in the year so boot times could drop to 15s - 20s

Would like to try that on this laptop, but ubuntu does not like the onboard wireless card.
Not even via ndiswrapper. Whereas with Mandriva it works. Shame really. :undecidedFree/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I think I've tried several different wireless cards (ZyXEL x 2, Edimax x 3, plus the ancient inbuilt 11b card in the old laptop), since I first started with 8.04 and none can be made to work. Maybe Lascivious Lynx (?) 10.04 will have better wireless support, or indeed, any that works for me! Can't fault the instantaneous wired ethernet connection, though...Would like to try that on this laptop, but ubuntu does not like the onboard wireless card.0 -

I find that quite strange. Because of a couple of issues with Ubuntu 9.04 I moved to Mint. I plugged in an old Linksys 802.11b card to my laptop and it fired straight up without any problem at all.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0 -

Some work out of the box. Some don't.
Some can be made to work with effort. Some can't.
Wireless support on Linux is still very random at times.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
