Just interested if anyone is trying it out?
I love it and can't wait for the final release end of this month - I am finally going to get rid of ms windows altogher - YAY!
I'm pretty new to ubuntu/linux but found it pretty easy so far - but any experts here that can help in the future identify yourselves

Did you try it out as a live cd. You could dual boot etc.Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...0

hehe, just joking (kind of) about the ubuntu wizards - but just in case there are any around always helpful to know

I installed it as dual boot with my windows 7 (i have ultimate as i did that windows party thing - but don't tell bill i didn't bother having a party!) - liked it so much I have installed it as main system and run win7 in virtualbox... apparently it's not recommended but i don't keep files on my computer as i put them all on CD or usb sticks so not really much to lose!
I can't see myself going back to windows now...

The are a few people here that are very experienced with Linux.

However, probably the first places to go if you hit trouble or need help are the official:
help.ubuntu.com & ubuntuforums.org

thanks fermi, yes I have been to those sites to nose around but it's always cool to ask someone that might talk in plain english!
One thing i can't number or name the workspaces - wish i could do that... off to have a look to see if i can find the answer...

Right click on the workspace switcher and click "preferences".

Hello,
I'm trying out Ubuntu 10.04 using Wubi (so I didn't have to re-partition the Windows drive)
I do like it, but I have had a couple of crashes. One thing I can't get working is the gwibber social networking app. It crashes everytime I try to add an account.

I'm writing this from my Ubuntu 10.04 dualbooting machine as well... I've not had any problems with Gwibber, but then again I tend to use individual apps for each of the clients.
I've also installed the Cairo Dock and Mac4Lin and mine is virtually indistinguishable from my OH's Macbook :-D
This is my first flutter with Ubuntu since v8, and I'm amazed at how much it's improved since the last time I used it. I believe that I could let my parents loose on it now without any worries that they wouldn't know what they're doing.0 -
NiZV - I've not had any problems with gwibber, maybe you could try update manager?
indiegirl - omg - i am so going to have to have a go with those!

i'm hoping that some of the stuff that bugs me with 9.10 is fixed in 10.04 otherwise i'll be making the move from ubuntu to debian.
i've been using ubuntu for quite a while (had 8.10 installed then made the jump to 9.10 late last year) and found it faster than vista on the same machine which was one of the reasons i ditched using windows as my primary OS at the time.0 -
I've been running 10.04 since alpha2 was released.
Few issues due to it being an upgrade rahter than a clean install but that's half the fun of testing linux releases! lol!!
I removed gwibber due to issues with couchdb (it's a new feature which copies your contacts, bookmarks & settings between your machines using UbuntuOne service)
I like the music store UbuntuOne Music, I've already bought an album via it and had it instantly transfered to ALL of my machines thanks to UbunutOne links
:D
All in all I like it!
The layout of the window buttons will confuse a few windows users and MAC users will feel at home!
I'm going to do a wipe and install of Beta 2 later in the week once it's released.Laters
