ryanair - diabolical. I demand compensation

You may find some help here. And you can read other people's horror stories; Ryanair have made a habit of this sort of thing.
excellent post. I wasn't aware of anti-ryanair websites. I've visited the one you recommended and, depressingly, I am not alone in despising this mucky little operation. It appears that many, many people have experienced serious problems with ryanair. in some instances people could have saved themselves money by putting the t and c's under the microscope and booking with another carrier.miladdo0 -
Ryanair is notorious. Michael O'Leary is a man who does not know the meaning of the words "customer service". Nor, for that matter, "charm" or "efficiency". That seems to go in spades for his staff...I'm sorry that you had a rotten time of it, jamescredmond; all I can say is, I learned a long time ago that BA isn't that bad after all.0

If Ryanair are so bad & you know it, why use them?
If it's your first time with them & you had bad service, don't give them your custom again
They can only get away with it as long as people pay to fly with them0 -

Is your last sentence rhetorical? As has been said many times previously, if you pay the cheap prices you get the cheap service. I flew with Easyjet for the first time last December and was pleasantly surprised but then my expectations weren't high (the BA equivalent flight that day was 50% extra) although my comment to my wife after leaving the airport was that I wouldn't have fancied a similar flight in high season.
As for the anti ryan-air websites, they are hardly unique. I am aware of websites that are anti-Barclays Bank, Tesco, Paypal, timeshare organisations and five minutes on Google could probably find you an 'anti' site for most big companies.
P.S - I'm not an employee of Ryanair and have never flown with them (or wanted to) I've heard enough about them to have dissuaded me before this post (perhaps your post here will have an effect and dissuade others as well or at least warn them what to expect)Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
I`ve been more than three and a half hours late with plenty of "up market airlines"
The flight has to be delayed at least 4 hours for food and drink to be provided.
I`ve flown cheaply with Ryanair quite a few times without problems and for what you pay it`s a bargain.0 -
I have flown 3 times on Ryanair - twice I have had a delay but what the hell - its so cheap so if I did not want to use them I could spend 3 times as much going with another airline!. All airlines have probs but the cheaper ones dont give refunds/compensation thats why they are so cheap!Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

a compensatory tenner from ryanair I would gladly give to charity. Ryanair is ripping it's customers off - take a look at the site recommended by another post. to be 'brutally honest' people who dismiss concerns like mine and hundreds of others (judging by the site) by saying 'that's life' are among my 'big big hates'.
Nope I dont work for any airline and never have, but I have worked in shops and had to deal with customers like you.
Just look at the title of your post how arrogant do you sound?
"ryanair -Diabolical. I demand compensation"
Why do you demand it? Were you injuried? Did you suffer some form of horrible injurie because of neglect from the airline? Did the plane crash? Did you get food poisoning off the in flight food?
No you got delayed for 3 1/2 hours. Big woop. Annoying yes, could it have been avoided? We dont know it is upto the flight crew and the engineer to decided if it is safe to fly.
If this had happened to you 5 - 10 years ago you would not be demaning compensation because we did not have this stupid braindead culture of something small went wrong so I must be able to claim money off someone!!!!
As other posters have said on budget airlines we all know the food and drink is over priced so make sure you take your own when flying.
Have you ever watched airport? Have you seen all the stupid people turn up late/without documents/ whatever and argued with the checkin staff for ages about how they must be able to fly, blah blah blah. Do you sit there and think yes that person is right! If they turn up after checkin has closed they should be allowed on the flight? Or be able to fly without a passport or whatever?
No you see that its there own fault and they have to accept it. Ok in your situation it was the airline at fault but they have no controll over the aircraft brakes down. It is one of those things that happens.
The price you have to pay for cheap tickets is always going to be with customer service and all the other things that the more expensive companies give their customers for free.
Also just on a final note were you ever taught "I want dont get"?JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

No offence to you James but i have to agree with Jem on this one. 3 hours for maintenance to the aircraft and then a short delay to refuel is life. Would you rather they let the plane off without carrying out works that needed doing?
People who "demand" compensation for unexpected and unavoidable problems that happen to companies need to get another hobby.0 -
Well, this shoddy avaricious little outfit (along with EasyJet) seem to have reduced flight prices in general... I don't travel with them (having read the same reviews) as my holidays are quite important, but I still benefit from the knock-on effects.
As others have said, you pays yer money...
ps I don't buy electrical goods from car-boots or ebay either.0 -

so here's the money saving question: before I blast away with letters of complaint am I entitled to compensation, and if so, at what level?
any advice most gratefully received. If I could force ryanair to cough up just a tenner it put one over this shoddy, avaricious little outfit.
how is this money saving? Surely you saved money by going with Ryanair? Are BA planes any less likely to break down? Not in my experience. BA charter flights charge for drinks. It's not exclusive to the budget airlines
from one of your other posts, how did ryanair rip off? You paid your money, they got you home
If the cabin crew didn't tell you anything, how do you know so much aout the problems, and unavailale parts?
I would want compensation if they didn't fix the problem and took off, not the other way round0
