Hi Kat
No I have a 'proper job' - like Amazombie says you need £1,500 minimum if you are the main breadwinner. I make about £500 profit per month. I once hoped to go 'full time at Amazon' but as I became more experienced I realised I couldn't source sufficient good books - maybe my 'real job' pays too much.
I would say that alot of my stock is now 'stale' and I am going through the slow process of 'culling' some of my pensioners. So tread carefully on Ebay 'cos my last lot went for a tidy sum - it was to a market trader so I had no feelings of guilt - he was very happy with his win.
Good luck with whatever you decide - but keep it fun.

Right, manages to sell everything I had before (and all was gone within a week). Now I've stuck a phone on Amazon and the amount of dodgy emails I'm getting about people wanting to buy it for their Pastor is unbelieveable. I'm ignoring all emails from such people. No idea how they are sending me these emails, though. They are coming via Amazon Communications Centre! In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Hello everyone...gotta question!!!!!:D
Does anyone know where you can buy replacement tape/cassette cases??? I keep seeing audiobooks that I think will be good to sell but could do with a replacement box as they look too damaged to be acceptable.Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -

Hi Zoe, I don't think that I've seen cases for sale - your best best is to scour bootsales and jumble sales for some rubbishy tapes in good looking cases. If you REALLY need some quickly you might find blank cassettes in shiny new cases in pound shops0 -
A question for the 'big boys' - Amazombie and FFM
The majority of us are humble part timers and since the subject of full time Amazoning came up I have a query.
To do the job 'properly' and treat it as a job rather than a pin money machine do you have to be cunning with your purchases? ie, not just buying from the usual places like charity shops, bootsales and the like but using your knowledge to seek out specific books from other sources?
What I trying to say is do you have to have real skill - more than just the experience we have all got in varying degrees - to make decent money out of it?0 -
I sold a toy on amazon yesterday for 30.00 but cannot find where they have deposited the funds?? It said in my e mail that the money had been placed in my account but cannot find it anywhere!!
If you can help thanks in advance x0 -

Hi AT
I would not class myself as one of the 'big boys', can't speak for Amazombie.
I regularly 'visit' the Amazon discussion boards and don't think the 'lower volume' sellers on here do anything different to the sellers 'over there'.
I think the 'big boys' as in 'volume sellers' have different sources to boot fairs, charity shops etc they trade in 'quantity' rather than 'quality' - that is not to say that they don't get the odd 'little gems' in their stock and I'm pretty sure they don't buy from Ebay.
I don't think you can 'make it big' by doing the rounds at boot fairs, jumble sales etc because it is very time consuming for finding stock. I've recently had 2 very bad weekends at bootfairs - none of my regular £20 or £30 books were anywhere to be found - I could only find a handful of £2 - £3 books - so I won't be retiring this month
I'd love for Amazombie to disagree 'cos I'd like to give up the day job - just can't see how.

Hi CFG
Go to 'Your Account' and click on View your recent Marketplace orders in the 'Manage Your Orders' section.
You will then need to log in. You should then see a list of your recent sales.
If you still can't find it - just shout again.

Question for Amazon experts ... Is it possible to list on Amazon.com [USA Amazon]?
I have a CD which is not listed at all on Amazon.co.uk but is listed on .com, but if I try to list, it asks for a valid US zip code to dispatch from ... can't figure a way past it?Learn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:
Regards
