Hi G-Man
As far as i know you can claim just the same as if you had a COP - of course the Royal Mail may turn your claim down or only send you a few stamps - but at least it is free to send in a claim.
If I were you I'd get a form from the PO -or print one off online, and pop a claim in - after all they can only say no!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -

My mother is looking after my empire until tomorrow.
For any of you who knew about my luck at selling a £75 book, well royal mail have lost it!!!
The good thing is that I sent it special delivery. The office where it says it is being held say they haven't got it, and have no record of it. So it looks like I will have to put a claim in. Luckily I can give the buyer my copy, and hope he is happy.
I have spoken to my buyer and he is very understanding.
Matt
If your lucky like me,I had something go missing about £30 worth,I got my money back then about a month later it turned up back at my house lol0 -
Sold a book today that I paid £1 for, I sold it for £35!!! Am very happy as that is the highest priced book I have sold in a long time, it was a student textbook and long may the textbooks continue to fly off my shelves. Yipeee! :j
I was reading some threads on the amazon seller connection boards last night and there were some people talking about how to make a living from selling on amazon. They were saying that on average you will need about 7,500 books. Sounds interesting, wondered what the rest of you though? FFN do you make your full living from amazon? Coz you only have 4500 which is a lot less than they think. I only have 650 and I make about £400 a month, I would only need to double that to be able to quit my job. Annie, you have loads of listings, are you hoping or currently doing this as a living?
It has inspired me to try and get more books though, so I am looking on ebay now, nothing good on there this week though.

I have just sold a £30 book too (think I bought from a carboot sale for 50p) Cant stop smiling LOL!!
The address to send it to is in the same town as I live - do you think it would be ok to deliver it or should I post it? Not sure and just a bit nervous about posting it as it is my highest priced book I have sold.0 -

Well done on the sale, you and Kat.
when ever I've taken a book around personaly I've always got the impression that they'd like to have had the postage costs given back, the last one was for a penny book so it was a big mistake not posting it.
It will be covered up to £32 with the RM so there's no need to worry0 -

£ 400 a month from only 650 listings is very good and you must be selling over 10% of your stock and not penny items? 10% is very high as well.
We all eventually get stale older stock which takes much longer to sell if it sells at all but I would have thought a living wage for a chief breadwinner with a family has to be a minimum of about £ 1500 a month?0 -
Just looking at job lots of books on ebay, some good ones if you happen to live in Hampshire (I don't) but nothing much near me.
I tidied my storage shed ready for the auctions today, and there were virtually no books at all..just huge great coffee table books that go for less than postage costs on Amazon.
Never mind, there's always next time.
Oh, and if any of you are the cheeky bidder offering me a third or less as a best offer on my BIN items on ebay..up the bids a bit please :T
I'm tempted to go do silly best offers on all the other peoples books now, just to even it up a bit.
