A little tip for all you book bargain hunters.
If you are in your local charity shop or whatever, and come accross a book you think might be worth something but you don't want to buy it in case your wrong. You can put the isbn number into your mobile phone and dial the number (don't let it ring!), then when you get home all the isbns you have can be checked against amazon.
Hope this helps some fellow addicts.

Many Thanks! If next time you go in your charity shops and all the good books have gone its because I live in the same town and got there first. :rotfl:0 -
Hey guys,
Thanks for welcome! Second day and second book sold! Posted both today and messed up with with packaging as after carefully weighing i get to the PO to find theyr'e too wide to be a 'large letter' so had to send as 'packet'. Had to laugh when i asked the PO lady as she goes through prices as she suggests i send 2nd class, i say no first class so will get there tomorrow right? she squints and purses lips and says Hhmmmm well that is the aim! Have to say am slightly disturbed by stalking of charity shops!! though have been mentally scanning mums house for possible book caches...wanders off to find charity shop (via mums house)0 -
Sold a CD single last night to a guy at the BBC (little things excite me!). Will get just under £22 after postage. It'd been on there for a couple of months with me gradually lowering the price. I knew I'd get there in the end!0

Charity shop stalking, I like that!
I've often wondered when I'm book hunting at car boot sales if the person standing next to me rifling through the boxes is one of us, either a regular poster or a regular reader (don't like the term 'lurker' it sounds sinister!) - and no I'm not saying where I go that has 500 cars every week!!!!I gave a clue recently when I said that I use a shopping trolley - so there you are, find a mumsy type with an all-terrain shopping trolley and whisper MSE in her ear and see if you get a response:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That's a heck of a price - well done you!0 -
I have found another seller on Amazon who has copied the main part of my description into his own listing word for word, for a CD I am selling - is there a proceedure to follow that will point out his error to him.
I know it's not the end of the world - just annoying as I spend a not inconsiderable time researching and composing before listing to be as accurate as possible.Learn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:
Regards

snax, you could email and ask him to change it an/or you could report the violation to sentinel@amazon.co.uk
Matt - I am deeply jealous of your cheap load of books - all the big good looking lots tend to be about 4 hours away from me!

I've sold a book to someone I know but lost touch with about 12 years ago. The name is quite unusual and so is the fact that he is a 'Revd' so in my despatch email I asked him if he used to have the local parish, and he did!

Am still fed up of these PIP variations, depending on who is serving at the counter! Have now bought hundreds of different denomination stamps and am doing it myself at home (saves arguing about large letter or packet!). And also following other's advice am only going to post office to get COP if item is over £10, saving myself a lot of time and stress!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
