  • Chelltune,

I get a lot of my books from the tip. A friend of mine buy bulk from the tip and sells at boot sales (Huge amounts of DVD players, Stereos and Video players mainly bound for Africa and furniture for the local market) he gets me boxes of books when they turn up and usually are great. So my advice is to get your butt back down to the tip and get them to set aside all the books for you and make them an offer. I pay £2-£2.50 per box. Good Luck!

Well I haven't whinged for ages, yet I sold a book at the beginning of the week and another today and they were both 'good' ones.

Trouble is as soon as I sell a couple the urge to go and buy more gets very strong, but I must try and resist as I need to clear some room first.

That is so true Soolin - I spent about six pounds this week on books, nearly all of them duffers. In one hand and out the other.

Saving this from the second page. I don't have much to report, still unpacking so will start relisting in a weeks time. I have bought myself a set of postage scales so i can stamp up my post at home and put in the box across the road which seems to be emptied three or four times a day.
I will take any expensive books to the post office for a COP or special delivery but i have decided that i will not spend my lunch hour lined up in the post office for COPs in case one goes missing. I am going to risk it. I think the loss of one book every now and again is worth it to regain my lunch break.

I really didn't mean to buy more books, honest! I went to the library to get some recycling bags and they had lots of books for sale, so I bought a bag load on spec for £4. I've got one 1p book, but the rest are all good, three were even unique in that there are no other copies showing on any other site...so fingers crossed.

I'm just desperately trying to hide them before anyone notices I have bought more. I was supposed to be thinning down my stock so I could store some furniture in my storage shed while we decorate.

  • Soo - do what I've done, put them in 9 lidded plastic boxes in the greenhouse, put the tomatoes out on the patio and when asked what you are growing in the greenhouse this year change the subject quick :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
