I haven't been to a haven for ages, can anyone help? I put my boy is 4 years old on the booking form, but now that my confirmation has come through I have realised that he will turn 5 before we go - will they ask for an entertainments pass for him, or can I be cheeky and save the £7.50?52% tight0

Can anyone tell me - are the entertainment passes worth it? What do they include?
I am going with my OH and we are both in our twenties:)0 -
Re Silly Student #383
A number of years ago I was meant to be going on holiday with a friend and her 4 children, I had paid for the caravan and the entertainment passes for 8 of us to go and at the last minute she pulled out of the holiday as she couldn't afford it after all.
I managed to get another friend to come with me at short notice but from paying for a holiday for 8 to only 3 of us going I took a big hit. I decided after that experience I would never pay for the passes up front again just incase I couldn't for some reason make the holiday.
Since then though, I have found on a few holidays that they have put the passes into the pack anyway (it happened again this time - I'm typing from the Isle of Wight, Thorness Bay) and on the occasions that the passes haven't been included I usually query it and erm pretend that I've paid - I always ring up to cancel the linen anyway and to see if I can get a 3rd bedroom so mistakes can easily be made ;-)
Only once have I had to then pay for the passes.
As for are the passes worth it, it depends what you want out of your holiday. Are you going to be using the site as a base to go to visit areas around you or are you planning on using all the facilities and going to the club house each night to watch their entertainment? As you will need the passes to gain entry to all their amenities.RainbowLiberty0 -

I wouldn't even bat an eyelid over this, I doubt that many people think too much when writing the ages down as to whether or not they will have had a birthday. As for the difference it is going to make to them - it will only affect any of the clubs if they state 5-11 ages as they wouldn't then be able to let him go to them. Park Resorts Sparky's Krew is 5-11 (guess it's like that to make them show their passes) but if you wouldn't want him joining in with them then I wouldn't worry at all about it.RainbowLiberty0 -
Been there and got the T shirt. 9.50 holiday for 4 people = 36 pounds,
= £38 not £36
Charges for bedding, we take our own, having worked at Butlins years ago I've seen what goes on behind the scenes and couldn't guarantee that bedding is always clean. I know my own from home is. I put a full bed change i.e. sheet & quilt cover inside the pillowcase and use them to sleep against in the car for comfort
entertainment passes see #384
So only extra we have to pay for is gas/electric which we'd have to pay at home anyway and we do make full use of the power as we take laptops, games consoles etc away with us.
In Isle of Wight at the mo, mon - fri total holiday cost £60 and the ferry does a deal with the Sun/NOTW so that was only £35 return too. Very happy bunny.
, etc etc, final charge was in the region of 120 pounds for a 3 day break.
Still cheap but not quite the bargain the failed journalists at the Sun Newspaper would make it out to be.
As the saying goes if something sounds too good to be true it usually is, all the info is there if you just read the small printRainbowLiberty0 -

My friend hasnt been on holiday for quite a few years now. They were planning to go this year, but have had really bad luck with their car and now don't have the funds.
A sun holiday would be great for them, but they are too late to buy the newspaper and token.s They've never booked before, so am I right in thinking they can't do the online booking? I have had lots of sun holiday (great fun) and so can book on line, it had crossed my mind, I couldnt book the holiday in my name (our kids are simila ages). It would mean that she would have to present herself as me when she checks in (not entirely honest I know).
Anybody done this before?
I love my friend to bits and would love her and her family to have a few days of fun.
Thanks
PS> I absolutely trust my friend to pay up and look after the property etc...Me debt free thanks to MSE :T0 -

If you have a priority code that you are prepared to use for her then you can quite simply put her details on it. I've been received/bought/been given priority codes before and have always just put my own details once you have got through the section of putting your reference number.katglasgow wrote: »My friend hasnt been on holiday for quite a few years now.
