Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 7th April. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning everyone! I hope that you are all well today?

It's been ages since I've started this thread and I thought that someone would have beaten me to it. I've been missing in action over the last week or so with it being Easter week, so hope that you've all had a good time and that the eggs were plentiful.

It has the look of a lovely day here today - at least I hope so. Got the bedclothes in the machine just now and another load to go in when that finishes. Got the towels and my visitors bedding washed and dried outside yesterday. It makes such a difference.

DH was on dinner duty last night, he spoke about a cauli korma, so I was looking forward to that all day, but when I came home, it was a tomato pasta bake that he made! Anyway, I'm hoping that the korma materialises today!! Was drooling at the telly last night when the MasterChef Final was on - all the food looked delicious. I'd love to have enough money to dine at the 3 Michelin Star Restaurant in Holland that Dhruv was cooking at - wow!

We're dog sitting for my parents just now, so have their 2 Border Collies to look after as well as our own one. Makes for interesting walk time! Getting it down to a fine art now though and don't need to use a lead for any of them :) Am gearing myself up for the first walk of today.

I hope all is well with you this weather. Have yourselves a good day.

Mornin' Nessie and all who follow.

Have been waiting for someone to talk to :rotfl:

Couldn't sleep, gave in at 4 and got up, would like to say I have done loads but I haven't. Done one load of washing, 2nd in. Sorted out a parcel to post and printed postage, drunk 2 cups of tea and am now on my 1st coffee, think I may need a lot of coffee today :D Got some sausages out of the freezer for tea tonight, posh ones that OH got from a farm shop on his travels. Think I will do mash, cabbage and loads of gravy, hope he comes home tonight cos I can't eat them all! If not he will be back tomorrow so thats his tea sorted.

Better get moving as its my normal time for getting up now.

    Have a good day xx

Morning nessie and all who follow!

am up extra early today as my lovely son decided to drive home last night with my car keys in his pocket! I'm having to take DHs van to work this morning and I hate driving it so am not looking forward to it - I struggle with the steering as there's no power steering and its very heavy.
On the plus side I get my new car tonight:j:D so DH and I will give it a test drive and collect my old car keys this evening.
2 days at work then I've got a long weekend off!:j
OSiness - not a lot today, no washing to do and tea is something quick from the freezer such as a veggie burger for me and a meaty one for DH with new pots and peas.

Diva - hope yesterday went well x

    candygirl - (((hugs)))

hope you all have a lovely day - supposed to be quite nice here!

Good morning everyone and lots of (((hugs))) for MSD - hope you are feeling better today.

Well, I've been MIA because so much work is going on in the house. I've been 'helping' slightly but mainly confined to keeping the cuppas going. Lots of photos have been taken and some of them are on my blog. The roof in the attic has now been made safe with old beams taken out and new ones installed, plus the roof itself has been made good - in fact, the room will soon be a bedroom with, eventually, an en-suite bathroom.

I didn't get chance to read more than the last few posts of yesterday's thread, so I haven't caught up with everyone's news. Hope you are all keeping well and that the sun shines on you.

Dinner tonight is something to do with sausaages - maybe a casserole,

Well, I can hear noises upstairs so I'd better get the kettle on.

    Morning all

Haven't caught up on yesterdays thread yet - will do that next.

Woke up before DD so I thought I'd come down and enjoy the quiet time! Trying to get the courage up to tell my boss that the doctor has given me a sick note for another two weeks......
WM is on and the last load is on the radiators to make the most of the heating coming on for an hour. Must get TD fixed but I just don't have the money at the moment! Need to do the DW but I need painkillers to kick in before I can tackle that.

Breakfast today will be toast or cereal, lunch sandwiches and dinner will be stewing steak done in the slow cooker with mash and veg.

I'd forgotten it was Wednesday/veg bag day and gone out yesterday afternoon....came home to find it hanging on the door handle - bless him! Emailed him last night to apologise and I can just pay him for two lots next week.

We have the step-kids back....its all rosy at the mums house as she has just got engaged to her new fella. *Bites Tongue* :D

    Have a good day! x

It looks like it might be sunny here today so I'll change the beds & get it all washed & on the washing line.
I was given a huge bag of furnishing fabric yesterday so I need to sort it all out, I also need to take some pics of clothes to put on Ebay.
Sausage & Mash tonight, the sausages are defrosting ready.
    Have a good day everybody

Morning everybody! I’m still half asleep – OH was up shockingly early so he could speak to his boss before work and when OH gets up, everyone gets up!

SunnyGirl – thank you so much for keeping us updated about Diva. Still sending those good vibes for her.
Candy – hope your DD has calmed down a bit and that Boo is OK.
Miloliere – glad to hear the roof is now safe. Always a good thing…

Another house viewing tonight – looking forward to having a look ‘round. Hopefully OH will get back from work in time but it’s going to be tight.

OS / jobs for the day: Make birthday card with Owls on for ex music teacher, do laundry, fill in forms for solicitor, put new recipes I found into my recipe book, and go through the cupboards so I know what to buy when I go shopping tomorrow! I found a recipe for Apple and Cinnamon Lolli-pups (for the dog!), which calls for wheatgerm. Anybody know what this is and where I can buy it?

    Hugs to all,
    Gxx

diva - hope you're doing ok hun!

It's a beautiful sunny morning here. I'm going to walk to work, not been able to do that in ages as the days I've been based locally it's been raining! So pleased for the sunshine cos I'm off to the seaside town of Tenby today for 'work purposes'! :D 2 of my young people are on work placement there so me and my colleague are off to see them. It's an hour's drive away, so we making a day of it with lunch in a pub and stroll on the beach, just don't tell the boss! ;)

    Have a great day all
