I am going to drop this now, but with regards to that, do you think we don't actually do all that already?! Cut costs?! We are a family of 6, not working with one disabled, how much money do you actually think we get?!

I think it's none of anyone's business to be fair, and I think a little bit of open mindedness would be respected!

To the OP...I wish you lots of luck in comping. Stick at it and the wins will roll in. ;)

Drew....your comments were a bit unfair. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but everyone on here has as much right to win as you wether they be working or not. Some put a lot of effort into keeping these boards going and I for one am very grateful. And yes...I too am not in 'paid employment' although I work hard to keep my family going as well as doing coursework & voluntary work with children & special needs. Once my course is completed and my children are full time school then I can get paid employment IF a job should arise in this deprived area where redundancy is high and jobs are scarce. So yes...I shall hold my head up high and say...im one of those 'jobless housewives'.
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!
  • Lots of talk about stay at home mums, finances etc but at the end of the day I comp for :jFUN!!!:j I love it, I've made some pals and had a good laugh too, I'm having a bad year compared to the last 2 years but Im hoping my luck will change soon. I've given a few things away on here and kalma repayed the favour when a kind moneysaver gave me some concert tickets!! To top it off the seats were amazing!!!

To the OP I personally think it has alot to do with Luck, Enter what you can with the time you have (it can become obsessive) and your wins will come at some point, if your not enjoying it there isn't any point entering.

Good Luck to All regardless of circumstances at the end of the day its a Hobby!!!!!
Big Thanks to all those who post competitions you are stars!

Hi welshcrumpet I have stayed off the thread due to something on page 1 but good luck and try to stay positive.

I had to retire early due to severe head trauma that isn't fixable and I comp as much for fun as to exercise my brain to try to regain some of what I lost if at all possible.

Try not to let it get to you when you don't win. When I get like that I just do the dailies and 1 or 2 from the main board for a few days to have a break I normally find that I am then ready to recommence my comping.

I do only enter comps either I or members of my family or friends would like and as I can't get insurance of any type I steer clear of the foreign holidays unless it is just a weekend in the eu countries.

Lucky dust sent to you with hugs. x
If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

The best wins I ever had were when I'd forgotten about comping, they just turned up.
When I've been really hoping and trying to win I did terrible...

If I'm up early waiting for the postman or checking my emails 10 times a day there's always nothing, but when I go out and forget about it I come back to wins. I won a trip to Russia, got the call whilst on a bus, I won a DSI on McVities whilst chatting to my boyfriend not really looking at the screen, a camcorder just turned up at 2:00pm on a Sunday (definately didn't expect that!)

There's always little suprises like that, those of you that play online bingo will agree you nearly always win when you're not looking at the screen.... It's weird but just forget about competitions after you've entered, then you won't dwell on the winning or losing of it all.

And about the "housewife" comment.... all I can say is LMFAO :rotfl:
Seriously... that made me laugh, anyway best get on with my comping, then down my white lightning, smoke a few superkings, then go to bed, need to be up in the morning to get my giro, watch Jeremy Kyle, and take my thousands of pounds worth of wins down to Cash Converters.

    How's THAT for stereotyping ;)

    To Weshcrumpet

I started entering comps about 2 years ago. Within the first week I won a goodie bag. Nothing much just a dvd, a cap, book etc. I then was just entering a few comps every now and again. I won nothing else for a whole year. The beginning of last year I decided I would enter as many as I could every day. I ended up winning around 35 prizes last year. Biggest wins were a smart phone, a years supply of strongbow cider, £500 towards a holiday, a whole catalogue of red dwarf DVD's, a £150 toothbrush plus a load more smaller things like DVD's, sweets, cosmetics etc.

Then I won nothing since christmas but the past few weeks they have started to come in. I just won an Ipod Touch last week and few other small things.

You need to stick at it, and do as many as you can. I must be entering thousands a month. I work full time but always spend an hour or so entering comps every night, I normally sort by ending date and enter the comps that end the following day, that way I know where I am :) Stick at them you will get a win and once one comes more will follow.

Unfortunately it is jobless housewives that spend all day entering comps that reduce the chances of people like me winning anything. I've probably entered thousands of comps over the last 2 years and won less than 10 times.

I need the prizes to sell for money due to high living costs (not outgoings). MSE housewives can clearly afford not to work hence their comp addiction which reduces chances for people like me.

    !!!!!!?!

I am a housewife because I want to spend time with my children, we are skinted most of the time!

Obviously us jobless housewives are not as worthy as other real people

to the OP, I seem to have had more luck with competitions such as the mcvities one (well not this one :rotfl:but the last one I won about £500), the last pepsi one, the last magnum one, and the visa one that finishes on sunday. I also seem to have more patience with those as I know you find out pretty quick if you've won.
