You know it's bad when you're the only one to enter a competition and you come second. :(

It's all luck & numbers in the end, plus maybe a bit of karma.I entered about 20,000 comps last plus TAB,gmtv biggies & a few itv ones.My signature has most of my wins in but there are about ten smaller prizes that are not on.I tend not to do the daily comps unless it's a biggie like the recent Amoy or Daily mail one.

give yourself time, you only joined in April so probably the comps you've entered are still running or just ended, fingers crossed you hear something soon :)

Welcome to MSE welshcrumpet - the wins will come - you don't always get e-mails either sometimes things just turn up - make sure you do the dailies as you have a good chance on those & if you are getting fed up apply for the freebies on the freebies thread so that you will have wee treats coming in to keep you going

It is very frustrating considering all the time and effort that we all put into it and more so for the posters of the comps (I can never find one that hasnt been posted cos they're all too up on the ball for me).

I've been doing this since November and only had a handful of wins and biggest so far is 48 snickers.

Done over 8k todate and keep hoping for a big win or just some dvds for me to watch but it's all about plugging away and eventually you will strike lucky.

it is frustrating as has been said already but you have to keep your hopes up, when i first started, and ive only been entering competitions for a couple of months myself, someone told me they enter over 200 a day !

its a full time job i think for some, i manage around 50 odd a day, but i enter all the ones im interested in and leave the rest, good luck

maybe check out the freebie forum and try and get some freebies in the post to brighten your day also ;)

I agree with the others. If you have just started it does take a little while for competitions to end, for them to choose winners and to get prizes out, sometimes you don't get calls, emails or letters the prizes just turn up, I think these are the best :).

I only enter the competitions where I would really appreciate the prize and try to get through a 100 - 200 competitions a day but it takes hours and hours, especially March that took me forever to get through, April seems to have just as many competitions to get through too!

Don't give up just yet, I was ready to pack it in at the end of March as it took up so much of my time, but I slogged on and have had my best month ever so far! I know it's a game of odds and luck but you never know when a prize is round the corner.

I hear you OP. I have been comping for a while though, since January 2009 and am still waiting for a biggie.

You can see what I've won so far from my signature.

Do any of you compers keep a record of what you enter, or just do them and then forget about them? I always press the thanks button when I've entered, case I go back to the same one again.

I tend to only enter comps for prizes that I want. Holidays abroad and more importantly, holidays for 2 (we have kids) are a no no.
