    Hi Welsh Crumpet

All I can say to you is keep going, enter the competitions that you fancy, by the law of averages the more comps you enter the more chance you have to win.

The ladies and gents on this forum are lovely, give up their time posting comps, congratulating you when you have won.

You will get the odd troll on here now and again, but I am not even going to deign it with a comment.

Wishing you lots of luck WC and let us all know when you do get that win:j

    Hi Welshcrumpet,

I can only echo what the others have said, and sorry your question got somewhat hijcked by some rude opinion.

You need to wait a little longer for any wins, most comps are open until the end of the month, and many take ages and ages to notify winners and organise prizes (I have been notified of a win 5 months after the comp ended!).

In the end, it is really just down to luck. I probably enter about 600 comps a week. Occassionally I'll enter hubby too (for ones where you need to drive, or ones for guys prizes like clothes, or like recently on a 'dad's forum). I would say for every 600 I enter, I enter him for about 4 or 5. 'He' has had some great wins - £600 diamond earrings, £100 Zip burn your bills, Mammas and pappas buggy, prepaid car wash card etc. which rival my wins so it really is purely down to luck.

I used do the dailies, and although everyone recommends them I have NEVER won on any of them!! I have given up after 6 or 7 months of doing a whole list religiously every day. For me they I have decided they are not worth my effort, but that's my choice, I know lots on here do win.

I also very strongly believe in comping Karma. It is really nice to try and give something back to the board, and try and find comps to post (hard I know with such dedicated posters), but it is almost as nice as a win when you see someone winning from your comp. Also, you can try and help out with answers and congratulate those in IWIWIW. Drewkent may wish to try this and see if it helps him.

I have tried hard not to get involved in this argument. I will just say this, a lot of these 'jobless housewives' (an oxymoron if ever I heard one!!) are the ones who spend a lot of time finding and sharing the comps posted on here. Without the posters, NOBODY would win.

Its all about luck, attitude and above all FUN.

    Good luck :D

Hello welshcrumpet, I started comping at the end of Janurary, if you look at my signature, I have been very lucky, not biggies, but big enough for me. I work full time, but have the utmost respect for those of us who stay at home.

    Power to the housewives!!

    Keep going.
Took me 3 months of entering hundreds of comps a day to win a single prize - you will start seeing some wins eventually :D
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

Oh dear, what have I stirred up....

I do appreciate the legion of users who post comps on here and accept my comments were slightly unfair.

May I suggest an end to this thread though as it has gone a bit far.

Most of the competitions you have entered won't have even ended yet, so you probably won't be winning anything from them anytime soon!
  • I'm one of these people who never seems to win anything either, it's so frustrating. Do you remember when Galaxy were doing the book give away and you got a free daily code with no purchase necessary, well I did it every single day it was on and never won anything yet some people were winning every day or at least a couple of weeks. You can't help feeling sorry for yourself and throwing a pity party. I keep trying to tell myself that I have luck in other ways by being happy and having a lovely family and stable home life which is far better than winning competitions but I just want to STAMP MY FEET over my failure to win anything ever!

Unfortunately it is jobless housewives that spend all day entering comps that reduce the chances of people like me winning anything. I've probably entered thousands of comps over the last 2 years and won less than 10 times.

I need the prizes to sell for money due to high living costs (not outgoings). MSE housewives can clearly afford not to work hence their comp addiction which reduces chances for people like me.

I hope you win some nice organic honey one day to sweeten your sour grapes!

Give it some time , the competitions probably haven't ended yet and it can take weeks after the closing date for companies to notify winners and send out prizes. You need patience to be a comper, patience to enter all the comps and patience to wait for any wins. If you are getting fed up after just one week, you may need to consider finding a new hobby as comping may not be for you.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A
