Thanks Luc-that helps..my daughter ran behind me and was laughing at my gait, apparently I run like duck!! Are there any chains of running shops that do this check? I know there aren't any local to me but would be willing to travel...I certainly do have problems in the leg/ankle/foot dept though as I had an MRI last year and have 1 leg shorter than the other, and foot not "on leg straight"....

Running shops are often independent, although we have Greaves up here. Google running shops in your area and see what comes up. YOu could also google run clubs and see what businesses sponsor them. Explain to whoever you see about MRI results, they should put you on a treadmill to assess your gait and then advise. You DON'T have to buy anything!

BB - it is important to know what level of work is right for you and not just think of salary figures. You have to live whilst earning them. I've been having similar thoughts - I could go higher but I don't want to deal with politics all the time and I want to be in my own bed at nights not hotels (I already stay away a couple of nights most months). I also like to see my OH so want to come home at a semi-decent hour. I could save more money and OP on my mortgage (we plan to do small OPs now but I could do more with more salary) but I would not be happy. I'm not always very happy where I'm at TBH. That is probably why I've got back into crafting, for the satisfaction.

    Enough rambling, supermarket calls :o

Just wanted to agree with you really.

Good evening - not been on for a few days - so just catching up! Welldone Luc and Squizz on jobs - Luc is that the one you were waiting for phone call about? when do you start?

I have several spreadsheets - but none are very good - I have putmyself up for an excel course in work so hopefully I will be a whizz on them soon!

Have been very down about money for the last few days - I have left myself very short again this month - was due oncall payments back dated to November which now won't come through til the end of the month which threw my budget out. Also due around £200 back from Npower but that won't come through til the end of the month either! I just need to not have a life til the end of the month! Depressing cos it's only the 7th!!!

agree with you 100% katsu. I don't earn enough to be out of the 'squeaky bum' situation each month and with my loss of WTC this month, no teaching until June and my tax increasing because of a c0ck up over my AQA earnings I will be in a negative situation so will have to start working every weekend to break even until I can get a better job. 25k would mean a 'comfortable' monthly income ( I could even have a social life maybe!!) and I could go a bit lower but need to be around that amount to get my mortgage re-fixed when it runs out in July otherwise when the rates start going up I could end up in a pickle. I just don't want to go back into PR/communications/media work again.

SRM - Have a look at where your nearest large town is and google running clubs for there. I would ring any of the local sports shops up and failing that a couple of running clubs. Someone will know of a shop that video's you running. The one I went to had a camera behind you when you were on the treadmill. It had a vertical line on screen and it was a case of trying to line your leg up with the line.

My friend runs. She was born with feet pointing backwards which were operated on a number of times so I would have thought any problems you have would be something they could cater for somehow.
