Was it an 'internal' vacancy? If so it may be worth talking to them about how you can get more exposure and get away from the catch 22 of need senior experience to get senior role. Any opportunities for 'acting up' even if you don't get paid for them, or volunteering for leading things. Frustrating about the job but glad you got positive feedback anyway! The universe has something better headed your way I'm sure. Sounding very focused with the money plan, I like it
Prolific is the only site I actually got into using regularly. It has been quite a good little earner. I've fallen off the wagon with it a little recently but am going to get back into it.Total Debt : ?? / ??0 -
No it was external. Sadly I have had a 'career' talk with my director and he advised me at that point that he is happy for me to keep doing what I do, which is quite specific and technical but he won't move me to broaden technical knowledge. This was a complete 180 from previous discussions and seriously demotivating. This is why I am looking at new jobs. The company I work for is a good place to work but my role lacks challenge and I am not at my best when I am bored. I could stay I suppose. Working conditions are good and very flexible, pay is good and I get a nice annual bonus but a bit of me is still ambitious and not satisfied with settling...:o26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

MSE check ins:
Yesterday was a NSD but today won't be as I don't have lunch with me. On the plus side I took back a dress (55), a bag (12), a bra (28) and some rings (10) I had got for my brother's wedding and never used. That's 105 back in my account. Perhaps not the best start to those retailers' days though :rotfl:
Have been fairly consistent with the surveys:
Prolific £4.49
PanelBase £3
One Poll £5.20
YouGov 200 points ( I see what you mean Beanie... I may cash out before retirement...)
Are there any other sites I should consider?
Today is a challenging day as I am in my favourite shopping city... Must stay away from Paperchase and Cass Arts... I do need to get cards for Father's day and draw cash to put in for spends on golf type items for Hubbles.
I also need to lose about 14lb so I don't need to buy new holiday clothes. I am mostly just bloated from eating rubbish so from today will be cutting refined sugar and doubling up on training...26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

I love Paperchase and Cass... Whenever I'm in town I always go in and just browse, although the temptation is always to buy unnecessary stuff. Awesome news with the refunds though!
That's pretty crummy about the career talk, I definitely understand why it would make you want to move on. But at least there are a number of positives for where you currently are. The right thing will come alongTotal Debt : ?? / ??0 -
Not a whole heap to report since the last update.
The weekend was nice and low spend. NJ's rugby club had the end of season awards on Friday night in the clubhouse. I spent a whopping £1.90 on a pint for Hubbles and nothing else. The kids had a blast and burned off some energy which meant they slept REALLY well
Saturday we didn't do much. Housework mostly. Hubbles did the food shop while the kids were at TKD and managed to mostly stick to the list. He's learning... Christian had a birthday party in the afternoon. Another good night's sleep for him as a result.
Sunday the kids just wanted to relax so they watch rugby, played PS4 and ate. Hubbles and NJ went to the range to hit some balls and then we enjoyed a fathers' day dinner of roast chicken and veg. (Turned the leftovers into 3 packed lunches so pretty good value.) Home made warm chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream to round off a nice relaxed day.
Have to say I have don A LOT of reading in the past week or so. I'm on book 9 in 10 days! If anyone likes fantasy books Sarah J Maas's books are worth checking out. I would venture to say they are aimed at a female market but they are pure fantasy escapism. Just what is needed! Strangely all the reading has triggered my writing again and I have penned a few thousand words this month which is a big win.
I have also moved my workouts into the gym and have been enjoying some proper weights sessions. I've started the Evolution programme by Joe Manganiello and I am really enjoying it and looking forward to seeing results in return for 6 weeks of sustained effort.
On an MSE front I have kept plugging away at surveys. I can see if I keep it up regularly it will help me chip away at my card debt and then probably go into a savings pot, perhaps for extra food aver the holidays.
Really not feeling it at work anymore but I shall just keep plodding until the right move comes along and take advantage of the benefits of flexible, independent working
Anyway - better get back to the grind - happy hump day!26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.
