I got asked to look at my local chemists PC the other day.
I went into the chemist and within 5 minutes I had diagnosed the problem.
The machine was delivered to me at 2pm on the afternoon for repair. I took it apart done some tests with a multimeter, to confirm my suspisions, had a cup of tea, fitted a test part and ran a few tests, estimated the repair cost and rang the chemist at 2.30, to confirm they wanted the repair done and the price was ok......
By 3.15 I had been to Maplin to buy the new part, fitted it and had the machine up and running on the desk at the chemists......
    Moral of the story....
Some people are cut out for repairing computers, some people are good at accounting, some people are good at digging trenches all day.......
If you are unsure of what you are doing whilst attempting to repair your £700 laptop, or £500 desktop. Let someone else look at it that knows what they are doing.........:D

P.S. the people in the know on here know exactly which part I replace from the description I gave, if you dont know which part I changed, you should read up more, or just leave it alone.....

Tom - I think your very pleased with yourself arent you?

Well if the chemist is happy, then why shouldn't Tom be happy also? Think I'll nip along to Currys and PC World tomorrow to let them know you can do something totally pointless that they say you can't, install Norton in Linux (under WINE) only joking.......
