You should be fine so try and relax. The fact that housing benefit have screwed it all up for you should enable you to get a stay if they gain the eviction.Contact them and do all you can to stop it going further. If you have any money coming in anywhere (I'm assuming you do) offer to pay a couple of pounds a week if they are insistent.I know HAs are harsher than the council on these matters but get some help and you should be alright

Thankyou, I've just e-mailed my local MP, next up is CAB and I am seriously considering seeking legal advice to see if we could get compensation for the huge stress they've caused us for so long now. I am not for a minute suggesting that they should make benefit claiming easy, but there is no need to treat us like CRIMINALS when all we want is a few months of help after all the years we have paid our way

I wouldn't bother asking about compensation.

If they need any info or say they have lost some make sure you take it into the office and have it either photocopied and handed back to you there and then or get a receipt for it.

You will get it sorted.I,on a personal level, would make an appointment to go in and talk to somebody about this if possible.I would suggest you inform them of the HAs intent too. What have the HA stated in their correspondence?

    And you accepted that ?

Your forms have been sitting in a pile on someone's desk for the last 2 weeks. Just because they got shuffled from one desk to another today doesn't mean it'll be dealt with by Monday.

Phone them back Friday morning and firmly request the decision gets made immediately. And if you're due money, you want it paid Friday into your account or by giro at the Job Centre.

Seriously, you need to get a backbone.

least you have some money coming in though (you're the one that gets £123 maternity pay right?)

and im not being funny and im sorry if this sounds harsh but if you cant afford kids you really shouldnt be having sex

I think you mean you should be careful!

Saying you shouldn't have sex if you can't afford kids is an odd statement, half the world would be celabate!

And please don't turn this into a I'm worse off than you thread. You're both having to wait, one much longer which is absurd and hopefully yours will be sorted soon.Keep it friendly!

I have to say that's a pretty extreme view on the matter!I totally understand the trying to avoid pregnancy thing but I can't imagine many people completely avoid sex just incase contraception fails nor only have sex if they are financially stable!

I think you should do a thread!!

Sorry, I just noticed this bit :mad::mad:

    How dare you!

What a nasty little person you are!

You're complaining because neither you or your partner have a job! Why dont you both get off your lazy !!!!!! and look for one instead of spending your time on internet forums! You know nothing about me and my life other than a small part that I have mentioned on here, 'dont mean to sound harsh' OK how on earth else am I supposed to take that?

No wonder neither of you can get a job, who would want to employ a small-minded person like you?!

I'd say discussion time! And make sure you state your view that you shouldn't have sex if you can't afford kids with no changing it to make it look less extreme.I think it could be quite interesting!
