can they help us

me and my partner are unemployed but have had no JSA for 6 and a half weeks

phoned up the benefit enquiry people a lot only to be told the same things 'its with the decision makers' these 'decision makers' apparently cant be contacted (i asked today for their number only to be told that)

so me and my bf were thinking of going to the local CAB to see what they can do

would they be able to do anything or are we wasting our time?

If you are both self employed then why are you claiming Job seekers Allowance??
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.

a sanction is a stop they can putnon your jsa if they feel you have intentionally made youself unemployed.
if you were self employed and only paying class 2 ni you could find your not entitled to jsa and that's why its went to the desision makers

It is usual for previously SE claims to be referred to a DM. Unfortunately in some areas it is not unusual for a normal claim to take six weeks, so yours may well take a few weeks longer. TBH there is little that CAB can do.

If you have no income in the meantime, you could apply for a Crisis Loan?
    Gone ... or have I?
