Is saying 10 days reasonable now do you think?
Am hoping the threat of the ombudsman will be enough to make them pull their fingers out.0 -

So I have run the OH a bath for when he gets in, prepared a home made lasagna, found the last bottle of wine and plan to sit down together tonight and write a proper list of what we owe, what the rates are etc. I am then going to call CCCS tomorrow and give them all the official figures (we tried to do one a couple of months ago but was 100% sure what we had to pay.) Hopefully then we can get the plan underway and get ourselves back on track. We are also going to write a plan of action for my business that I set up last October and see if it really will pay in the long term or whether its time to pack it away and go back to employed work.
I have my concerns about going on a DMP and am hoping it helps rather than hinders our future. Wish me Luck!!
Sounds v similar to me 18 months ago, I was in denial for several years, then my LBM came when Virgin MBNA put one card up to 34.9%
That was it, been on the DMP a year now and paid off over 20%, best thing ever!!
As others will say the first few months are the toughest but after that the majority freeze interest and things calm down, it is difficult sometimes living to a tight budget but with a DMP you have an ending in sight. Good luck to you. PP
PS. Originals from early 2010, does Nataz ever post now? (She started the thread back then).LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Sorry to see your having a tough time. Maybe its also time to be tough on others and say no where birthdays/christmas/presents are concerned. It's very hard, I know, but you've probably got a long way to on this DMP thing so maybe you start looking after yourself, be a bit selfish and make your DMP life a bit easier on yourself. If you don't you really will struggle and make yourself ill.
Was the dentist budgeted for with CCCS? if it wasn't get it on there with a review. In fact, have another look at your whole budget and see if its realistic.
I know its horrible all this but you will be through it one day, its that thought that keeps me sane (and my golden OH).
One day we will be debt free.
E2Time to stop wasting money and start saving some!! :T0 -

Newsflash Aldi have tomato plugs 6 for £1.99 and a growbag for £1.29. Thought I'd give it a go. Anyone else going to bother?
Also a question please - does anyone know if a notice of arrears is the same as a default notice?
Hope everyone has a good day

Just got off the phone to Opus (were CITI), they have accepted £600 as a F and F for £2.6k, good grief, incredible, etc, etc.
Thats 23%!!!!
So they accepted 23% and MBNA accepted 38%. So have gone from £56k last April to less than £40k now, hope for us all here?? :beer:LBM Jan 2010. DFD 2016.

Thank you for all the words of encouragement. Well last night we worked out all what the other half owes ( some of which we ran up together) and I have almost finished my own list. Even though it was scary:eek: it wasnt as bad as we thought it was. OH debts come to about £12kish and with mine i think we are going to hit about the £24k mark. However looking at them some are already on payment plans with people lile Lowell and there is only really four companies that we are in problem areas with. I am going to type out letters from the OH saying that he is happy for me to discuss his account so I can take the calls etc and write to them with our own DMP and see if they will take it before we do it officially with CCCS.
Also shock of shocks had a call from Barclays who were quite nice and said did I know I was over my overdraft by £109. Said yes and not alot I can do about it at the mo, he has refunded my charges for this month that are about to hit the account, increased the overdraft to cover the interest about to go and set up an intial 2 months payment scheme which has made me feel much better. Why cant everyone be that helpful it would make trying to help yourself much easier.MAY NSD's
