  • BARCLAYCARD RANT HERE WE GO:

Regarding my last post on barclaycard wanting a declaration from us to speak to cccs, cccs reckon its because the signature on credit agreement is different to signature cccs hold - considering that signature hasn't changed in over i dont know how many years - sounds like stalling tactics from barclaycard so they can keep adding the interest and not speak to cccs :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: i hate mondays !!!

Barclaycard are a strange bunch. So are they really saying somebody has compared your signature on two seperate documents? They nipped down to storage, retrieved your credit agreement and carefully studied the two? They really are something aren't they?!

You could always have some fun with Barclaycard and say that the signature on the agreement is obviously forged and therefore isn't yours..............I wish I had the nerve to try something like that!

That's a great idea!! Wonder what response you'd get then?
  • Seeing the thread about signatures had me thinking. In 1973 I had to open a bank account due to a promotion to have my monthly pay paid in, up until then my paygrade was payable in "real money" weekly. I opted for Barclays because it was the nearest bank in town. It came with the Barclaycard. Then when bank charges came about, probably in the 80's I swapped to Midland but kept the Barclaycard. Not sure I ever signed anything, except the bank account opening. Barclaycard just upped the limit and I never turned them down but never signed anything either. I keep reading about UEs and wondered if Barclacard could find my paperwork and what would happen if they could not? Can I just ask them if they have it from 1973? My signature would certainly have changed.

Very unlikely Barclaycard would find your paperwork, it will have been thrown away years ago.

Its always good to have that in reserve if the pay funny with you.

doesn't really matter too much about your signature on original paperwork, its much more about how the agreement was executed. Very unlikely that BC have original documents from 1973 however there is an option for them to reconstitute (which is much abused by creditors I might add!!!). murky territory if you don't have all the facts, if you're on a DMP and paying BC don't give a fig if you ask for a CCA, you need to stop paying to get their attention and do the whle thing properly or you're just wasting your time.

hope everybody is good, really busy with work and AAD, feel free to pop over and read up properly on UE. I had another success with the very pesky Amex on Monday, another one gone....................I'm not allowed to post the link on here but we're on google...........

    Wow, great news :j

Was the debt still with MBNA or was it with a Debt Collector?
  • Still with MBNA, they like to do a deal. I have another one with them for £4.5k and reckon they'd go for about £1.7kish.
BoS didnt want to know offering a 10% discount, same for Egg.
Opus yet to get back to me.
