Hello everyone, just back from a weeks camping and really enjoyed it soooo relaxing finding it hard to come out of holiday mode though.
Will catch up on posts soon, still have to unpack and I go back to work tonight:( (booooooo), welcome newcomers your in the right place.
Opened a letter when I got back from an agency saying the may call out to collect:eek:, but I know this is a scare tactic so haven't acted on it yet will get around to going through all my paperwork and updating my dmp file later in week too much washing, ironing and tidying to do first.........(how laid back is that) maybe I'm a bit too relaxed from hols.
O well better get on, hope you are all doing well and I will catch up soon.LBM - March 2010Paddle no. 15 :j0 -
Hiya everyone
Im 3 months into my DMP with cccs and things are going really well......apart from Nationwide! I owe them £330 on an overdraft. They keep writing me demanding that the full amount is paid back in full with no mention of dmp whatsoever! Now they are writing to me through KPR demanding money which i obviously haven't got. Has anybody else had a problem with Nationwide?Time to stop wasting money and start saving some!! :T0 -
Morning All
really busy so have been absent. Keep going everyone, Chocolates, ignore nationwide and keep paying your money, you could write to them and complain that they are ignorant and are ignoring your well intentioned attempts to sort out your finances. makes no sense, banks like this just rile me, if I won the lottery tomorrow there are banks who would NOT get a penny, I would spin it out till doomsday cos of the way some have behaved.
ok morning rant over, enjoy the showers all!!!More than Two Years in
Doing it the Niddy way:j:j:j0 -
hi everyone we received our new cards from santander this morning they are visa electron which i have never had before, i assume they work just as our visa debit did? we requested no overdraft as we don't want to head down that road again so feels like a fresh start i just need to contact everyone with our new details now.
i am still gathering our proof of income for cccs, child benefit are saying there will be a 10 day wait for a letter to be issued.
trying not too think about teh 1st of sept approaching when all my dd's normally come off0 -
Morning all
My Santander complaint has had a small success. They have agreed to refund the interest charge for one month on top of the account fee, so thats another £40 less to pay them back.
They didn't respond at all about ignoring my previous letters or ignoring CCCS and will only backdate the charges refund to June.
AH well, its better than nothing and at least the phonecalls have stopped.
I'm tired of fighting all this now so I thinks its time just to sit back and pay the money I owe. Having said that if I hadn't fought back and challenged the banks and PayDay Loan companys I would have been in a far worse position than I find myself in today.
I will never, ever put myself in this position again and I look forward to the day when I am debt free (and mortgage free) and nobody can control me and I have the freedom to live how I want.
I will make sure my son knows the full extent of what i've done so that he can live learn from my mistakes and can live a life debt free life. Cos it just isn't worth it. I no longer believe there is such thing as manageable debt because all you do put yourself in hock to the devil for "stuff". A house I can understand. A car? save up. A holiday? save up. Books, cds, computers..........oh my what was I thinking.:(
Sigh.

Found them!
Office of Fair Trading examples of unfair practice ;
Pressurising debtors to pay in full, in unreasonably large instalments or to increase payments when unable to do so.
Refusing to deal with appointed 3rd party reps.
Contacting debtors directly and bypassing appointed reps.!!!!!!!!!
Good luck whatever you decide to do!

Hope you've had a good day and your girls have enjoyed what they've been up to too! Is your report finished?
You're right about it being good sometimes not to have a moby signal:D never works for you though! Didn't get to meet up with True:( stupid me bought bargain phone off ebay to replace the one that jumped into the toilet - so couldn't get in contact while we were down there.
You are good remembering about me nearly being back to work. Such a mixed bag of feelings... children & childminder on so many levels, little one starting nursery, middle one starting school,:eek: and then the whole :jpay off more on the dmp :jlooking forward to the challenge of work but:eek: so nervous too!
YHA - for next year is a great idea - saving tesco vouchers but I think early booking might be the key.
First dmp birthday for me tomorrow - dh has been busy crafting with the little ones, he's been painting too so special home made pressies for me and no crochet /paper mache in sight - I think ( I'd notice the later - I'd have to tidy it up.

Wow - Huge achievement Mama. How are you going to celebrate? :bdaycake:
My current state, 3 payments in.
1 loan accepted DMP
5 creditors reduced to 0%
3 creditors reduced interest ( FD refunded 2 months interest today too)
3 preditors still to hear anything from - shame on you, 4 months after I started sending the letters! - CCCS are going to try nudge them for me.
Budgets a bit tough but ok. Desperate to get a bit of emergency stuff behind me but at least I know if it hits the whatsit I can call CCCS.
Got my first please have our credit card letter since starting on dmp this week. I didn't throw it away. I used the blank side for rough notes and then recycled. How thrifty am I getting!
Hope you are all ok

Well, Ive been lurking for long enough so thought now would be a good a time as any to say hello!
I had my lbm end of june and Iv been reading loads of posts and threads, which has helped me put my mind at rest, so I thought I would post on this thread as you guys all seem like a supportive and knowledgeable bunch.
Pretty much got everything ready now for my dmp and the first payment goes out on the 26th. I'm a little nervous about not getting my wages paid into my new bank account as this could cause me a bit of grief.
Im getting ready for some phonecalls this week as im about to miss a couple of credit card payments, not really worried as Ill just give them my ref number and hopefully they will go away. Egg put my account on hold for 30 days and I got no more phonecalls since they said that. Overdraft and loan wont find out till I get paid just in case I get paid into that account by mistake.
Just can't wait till the first payment goes out and then I know my journey towards being debt free begins :j
My debt free date isn't till April 2015 so I may be around for a while if thats ok with everyone?
Thanks for reading!

Hi,
I am considering entering a DMP and have spent a few days doing research on this and my other options. But I seem to get different answers to my problem depending on who I speak to. I told one well known charity that I was paying a minimum payment of £1072 pcm on unsecured loans. They put £1500 in the plan. I queried this and they said that is what their software generated this figure as being the amount of money I need to pay to service the debt (ie. pay it off not just meet minimum payments). I spoke to a different charity and they used the actual figure of what I was paying and declared me perfectly solvent!! (I feel like I am a sinking stone) When I pointed out that CCCS had used a different figure they said the creditors were likely to reject this figure as it wasnt actually what I had to pay. Cant see as a big charity like the first company get their plans rejected on a daily basis tho. Surely not?
Then I spoke to a few insolvency practitioners who tried to sell me IVAs instead saying it would offer me better protection against the creditors. One offered to 'cook' my figures and hide my assets to get it through.
More conflicting advise..I have a house for sale so I'm hoping to be able to make full and final settlement offers (subject to house selling of course!!). This qwill not clear my debt but will dent it. Some people say default, wait for debt to be sold then try an up front settlement without entering into a DMP. Some say once you are in a debt management plan, the creditors have no incentive to accept a !!!!!! as they know they are going to get 100% of their money anyway. Some say enter into a DMP then offer.
Also worried about my buy to let property (the one I'm trying to sell). Have been told the creditors could take me to court and then try to put a charge against it. Others say not.
Arrrhhh! 3 days on and I've got nothing except a headache
Just trying to find a way forward and its so difficult with so much conficting advise.0
