I have wrote to next on 3 occasions now 1st letter was to explain my situation and that I was working with CCCS and to offer a token payment. Second letter was the Notification of DMP which CCCS sent. Third letter was the same as letter 1 with another Token payment. In between this I have emailed them on four other times. CCCS are going to make them an offer tomorrow hopefully or Monday. I do appreciate that they have not had an official offer and seen a SOA so I will not bother ringing them and wait to see what they have to say about the offer CCCS make.

It appears that some creditors do not apply the Lending Code Nov 2009 which states that they should refrain from applying charges for 30 days.

But thanks for the feedback. It appears I seem to be having a hard time from my creditors this DMP business is not as easy as I thought.

I also do the 1471 silly I know but it is becoming a habit.

    Regards

seems to be like a lottery then, some of us have little hassle and others have loads BUT you will get through these rocky patches and find your paddle soon!

    Hello lovely peeps,

Very sorry haven't been on for a few days:o.

OMG Ted and your visitor :eek:I hope you're feeling a bit better now? Yeay re OH job Mama! :T Mikon, you seem to be having a bit of a rough ride at the mo! Sending you a , to cheer you up! Hi everyone else, sooo many pages I can't keep up with you all and still haven't made dinner yet:o

Work been manic, trying to catch up on housework and now my poor SIL to be, has found out today she has breast cancer:(:(. Had some more tests and waiting for results, having masectamy in a couple of weeks.

    On the DMP front, I have just had my call from Payplan. They told me my DMP can start on the 25/05/10 if I want. However, they will now send a request to all non-barclays creds for up to date balances. They will do the same with Barclays once my salary has defo gone into Natwest on 25th May. Once they have up to date balances, they will make an offer of payment. This process will take between 2-6 weeks, however;

Payplan said I do not need to send a token payment as all my creditors were paid between 25/04 to 24/05. I can send an I'm in a DMP letter, should I so wish but no need for tokens. This seems to be because if I can make a payment in 5 days time to PP, they can get to work more quickly.

However even if I make my first monthly payment to payplan on the 25th May and it does take up to 6 weeks for Payplan to pay them, would it not still be a good idea to send a token payment with a DMP letter?

    Thanks everyone:)

    Hi Eyeopener!

Santander have been really good with me while I've been setting things up, they've kept me informed of when they are going to apply charges and they stopped interest and charges as soon as they got my notification of DMP letter. Actually, I think they stuck like £6 of interest which dated back to the previous month but nothing after that. For me, they have been by far the easiest to deal with!

Thanks for the support, it has put my mind at rest. It's all the uncertainty I struggle with. Not knowing if X creditor will hassle and then being gobsmacked cos Y has accepted the DMP.

I know(hope) things will settle down and the three/four years will eventually pass but this period is a bit odd. Having said that its still a 100 times better than wondering how the hell I was going to pay my minimuns every month.

I am sleeping a lot better, in fact i'm sleeping now, so that must mean i'm on the up.

  • Just for interest here's a brief resume of what the new ConDem government are proposing re. Consumer protection.

    CONSUMER PROTECTION
Ban excessive interest rates on credit and store cards. Introduce seven-day "cooling-off period" for store cards. Make credit card companies provide better information to customers in "uniform electronic format that will allow consumers to find out whether they are receiving the best deal". Measures to end "unfair" bank charges.

Not sure about any details, I guess we will find out soon.........................PP

I am with Barclays and Barclaycard I hope I do not endure 15 calls a day like some people have from Mercers. I think I would just change my telephone number. They sound ruthless. I hope they take mercy on my sole and yours.

Try not to worry Albiebabes they cannot have what you have not got.
